  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Sorry, jogging back to the dugout or rounding the base after you have been tagged out on a routine grounder isnt exactly loafing, jogging towards a live ball in the outfield of the infield is. You will never see AJ dog it on a ball in play defensively, ever. He also was the main character in probably the best White Sox Hustle Play of all time in ALCS game 2. There's been a few times where AJ hit a routine grounder and didn't run full speed to first. One time this year, the infielder bobbled the ball and he was still out due to not hustling the entire time. The thing is though, 75% or more of MLB players do the same thing.
  2. KW's goal is to have an outfield of Viciedo, Rios and Quentin next year. Another one of his goals is to have Rios leadoff next season.
  3. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) No, but one thing AJ does not do is dog it. He's a very streaky hitter and not a great RBI guy, so his high BA is a bit deceiving. But the guy doesn't slack off. You mean the guy who frequently starts rounding the base on a routine grounder so he has an easier jog back to the dugout? Very few players bust it down the line for the Sox. I know DA commonly refers to an article a few years ago where a scout said Sox were hardest team to get home to first times due to their lack of hustle. We all love Konerko, but let's not pretend like he doesn't do his fair share of loafing to first on routine pop ups. Maybe the one thing I admire about Jeter, besides getting to sleep with Minka Kelly, is that no one in baseball hustles more than he does.
  4. Saw this on another site, but it's so true: Lillibridge half-assed an earlier play where a runner almost tried to go to second on a flare to CF.
  5. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 05:34 AM) Wow, haven't seen the video yet, but sounds like this play pretty sums up our whole season. It's really bad. Good thing Lillibridge has earned some brownie points with us this year. If it was Rios, this board would have melted down.
  6. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 05:33 AM) laziest game ever over those last 9 innings... PLEASE DO SOMETHING kenny, we just need to change things for change sakes, i'm not saying it has to be viciedo, but just anything.. wow.. ozzie at least better blast that effort. wow Not allowed to use hyperboles anymore That really was disappointing though.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:31 AM) Bloop single to CF. Lillibridge basically stopped running once he realized the ball would fall, then picked the ball up with 1 hand, took a couple steps, then realized the runner is being sent home, throws the ball 4-5 feet offline, and the runner scores. Lazy, lazy, lazy baseball today. The pitchers busted their ass, but that was a really poor display of effort by our entire offense tonight. That final play was even worse when watching the replay. Lillibridge had no idea the guy might try to score.
  8. This has really turned in to "Where Would He Play V2.0"
  9. Where was Bruney there?
  10. Wow, that's just comical. You have to bust your ass there Lillibridge. There has got to be changes made to this team. But at least Hawk is happy that Cleveland lost.
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) `f*** this ump HOW DARE YOU!
  12. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:25 AM) don't pitch to wiggy.. right hander.. santiago even???? Isn't Bruney still on the roster?
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:20 AM) It probably is just frustration, but Sox hitters don't seem to battle as much as hitters from other teams. It seems like they make it way too easy on the opposition way too often. They hit to their scouting report, if that makes sense. The last 5 or 6 innings, our hitters just look overmatched and/or not very focused.
  14. Hopefully we start getting better swings. Last 6 or so outs have been very weak.
  15. Brothers was someone a lot of us wanted the Sox to draft a few years ago
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:06 AM) Yea he's been using him correctly. Though many of us thought he would be a decent LOOGY when signed but knew Ozzie's managing style. The hole between Teahen and Alexei with Ohman on the mound and Nelson up to bat is a dangerous spot here.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:02 AM) Keep Crain in screw Oh Man disagree with OG on this one. Yep, you go after Giambi and then walk Gonzalez.
  18. That sure was an easy pitch to bunt.
  19. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 03:55 AM) I know Adam Dunn is terrible right now, but there's no reason for Omar to be facing Lindstrom. Dunn has no prayer against Lindstrom. He'll be batting 2nd next inning if we hold Rockies scoreless.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 03:55 AM) Are we even in this game? I don't get the feeling we are even competing (cept for the pitchers). 2 infield singles in last 7 innings. Most of our hitters have looked overmatched against their bullpen.
  21. Lillibridge has looked overmatched at the plate against righties lately. The Lillimagic has faded away, but he still plays amazing defense.
  22. Pitchers are really doing a hell of a job lately. Liked the effective high fastball by Crain.
