QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) I mean, the one problem there is that we pretty much would have no backup OF after that. But yeah, you can't bat Dunn here. Teahen?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Honest question: why do you care about the Cubs so much? And don't tell me your keeping tabs on the Royals. I haven't seen Carpenter pitch, so I wanted to check out if he threw a legit 99 mph.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) I'm kinda looking forward to K number 100 in less than 230 at bats. I've always said if you're going to be bad, at least be brutally bad. With that said, I wouldn't mind a 475 FT bomb to RF. I'll take a walk

Check out comcast if you can. Carpenter just overthrew 1b by about 20 feet.

Setting up to be an interesting bottom of the 8th if Ozzie lets Dunn face a LHP.

Unreal game, even though I didn't think he got that off the bat.

Gift hit...give us a lead PK!

9 freaking strike outs for Livan? Seems like one of those games that afterwards, the pitcher will say he simply pitched the way the scouting report told him to.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) Well done Sale. Really, the blame goes on nobody but the offense at this point. Humber threw 6 2/3, gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He pitched phenomenally. You have to win when your pitcher has an outing like that. Agreed completely, and it's a shame that he couldn't get any breathing room

Nice job by Sale.

Good thing is I'm sure our players have confidence we can comeback after Friday night. Just can't allow more runs.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Can't pull him with no one ready in the pen. But at the same time, he probably should have had someone ready. Humber simply fell off a cliff. Yeah, as much as it appeared he was losing it against Espinosa, I give Ozzie a pass for letting Humber try to go 7 scoreless. However, as we've seen all year, Humber hits a wall and hits it very hard. I'm still confused as to why we have 4 lefties in the pen now if Ozzie's going to be hesitant to use a lefty against a righty?

Inexcusable manging here. Should have been pulled after the home run.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) I never agree with the people who blame pitch calling for a bad result. That was a terrible pitch selection. Changeup after the last changeup was blasted, when the Change is his 3rd best pitch? After seeing Nix look pathetic against sliders today, I'm very annoyed that we threw him a change-up on Friday with Mr. Slider, Sergio Santos

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) We have nine outs left at least. But seriously, Livan Hernandez should be crushed by an AL lineup.

Jeez, he totally ran out of gas. Like someone above said, he completely loses it at the 90 pitch mark. This is what happens when you get 1 freaking run off of Livan.

Why was Heilman and his near 7 ERA pitching for Arizona in a one run game?

Beckham and Dunn just baffle me this season.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Those weren't fastballs. The fastball upstairs he was a little late on but fouled it off. The inside pitches he hit hard but foul were much slower and breaking Really thought they were Livan's mediocre fastballs.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Great, he can get around on an 87MPH fastball. I still haven't seen him get around on decent fastballs and he's having a hell of time hitting anything off-speed. And the breaking ball he whiffed on in this AB was up in the zone (and a little in) but it didn't have much movement. Hard to hit though when you have that much head movement during your swing. He's so far off the plate, and lunges over the plate to cover pitches. Thus, his head is moving an insane amount, and not only does he have his usual hole in his swing above the belt, but now he has one under his hands as well.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) He's going to shatter the record for Ks. No doubt about it. Keep at it Dunn. Not a chance, as he won't play enough if he continues to struggle.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Couple decent swings this AB for Dunn, just out in front on the slow stuff. It was fastballs that he was out in front of. Shows you how off-balanced he is.

And here comes the loud boos! I can't believe he has the hat trick against Livan.
