  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) You guys continue to have no idea what the average "4th starter" is. That's a guy with an ERA around 5.5. Is that true?
  2. Did Hawk just say our starting pitching hasn't been bad?
  3. Hawk, let me tell you that Konerko isn't on the same planet as D. Lee when it comes to scooping throws. Morel with some nice swings today, that's promising.
  4. Beckham unable to get the hands extended (never does anymore), and hits a lazy pop up to right.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) It does appear his effort is less than stellar which was the exact knock against him in Toronto. Maybe its his toe injury, or maybe its the fact that he is very graceful and those guys look like they give less effort than they do, but hopefully he didn't think he shut up his critics with his first half last year, because he's been awful ever since. Between him and Dunn, I bet you're going to start hearing KW talk about acquiring "winning ball players".
  6. Lillibomb! He should be playing every game, at least he's trying out there.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) At this point, it's pretty clear that Gavin Floyd is never going to be better than a 4th starter with occasional flashes of brilliance. Still has a lot of trade value though. There's a better chance he's our "#1" starter next year than him getting traded. I still feel like only a few people really realize the dire starting pitching issues we're looking at next year.
  8. BOOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice mound visit by Cooper there.
  9. Gavin's fastball seems to be an afterthought tonight. He's not setting up his pitches very well today.
  10. Poor Orioles, they'd have a chance to win the AL Central if they were in our division.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Why not Cooper? The vaunted starting rotation had the 8th best ERA in the AL last year, and are 9th this year. Cause he fixed Humber!
  12. I'm at least excited to root for Daniel Hudson today. Gavin's lost it the last 4 batters. Sox seem to be involved in more blowouts lately than my 8 month old versus his diapers.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Ugh, this one is definitely out of reach now...10-19....ugh. Someone needs to get fired. My prediction is Walker on Thursday.
  14. Hopefully Beckham gets a hit next time up to give us something to be happy about in this game. Another lazy play by Rios in CF.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Liriano has actually been horrendous this year. He has an ERA over 9. I wonder if Ozzie will play Dunn against him. I would have rather had Dunn sit vs Liriano and play against Britton, as the sinker ball is more in his wheelhouse than the Liriano slider.
  16. This Orioles lineup is pretty damn good. Throwing anything straight to Reynolds is really foolish.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) WTF? You really think this is anyone's thought process? Yes balta, I absolutely do. You really think they'd fire Ozzie today and let that take away from Thibs winning the award.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) The sad thing is, I do feel like the game is lost now. Well, good luck with the Sox hitting a solo homer off of him.
  19. Gonna have to wait another few days for any possible coaching changes, as no way will JR make a move (Ozzie or Walker) with Thibs getting the Coach of the Year Award and Rose getting MVP tomorrow.
  20. Wow, just saw the crowd shot of the outfield. What a pathetic crowd for a Sunday afternoon.
  21. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) Gavin is gonna have to go complete game shutout to give us a CHANCE. Blah
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) Anyone else think Ozzie should have left a few more lefties in the lineup given this kids repertoire and the stats after his first five starts? He looks a lot more comfortable pitching to the the RHers than he does the lefty. And the lefty is Juan Pierre. Just a thought. Good call, just looked up his stats...you're absolutely correct. Something to consider though is that Teahen and Dunn look lost against LHP this year, and AJP is going to get the day off after a night game.
  23. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 1, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) Ugh...words can't express how frustrating this is. Can't keep waiting around hoping for 3 run homer against Britton and his super sinker. With Pierre getting on to lead off twice, I'm stunned they didn't put a play on. I can't recall more than one hit and run attempt all season.
  24. Come on Ozzie, a little creativity please?
  25. Do a hit and run here against the sinker baller
