Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) Peavy looked great out of the pen. If we have to go to a five man rotation eventually, he would be my choice for the pen I disagree, as you want him to build up his arm this season cause you'll have to rely on him to be a starter next year while Jackson will be pitching elsewhere.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!
I went to a game against Seattle a few weeks ago, and as soon as Dunn got two strikes, people were starting to boo him. He has no one to blame but himself.

I'll be stunned if Delmon plays another game this year.

Gamethread: 6/25/2011, 3:10 p.m.; Nationals @ White Sox
Crap, on a plane for this game. SS2K can use it as me not being a top 5 post count poster during a win. Hell of a job by Peavy and Bruney.

Jackson probably made himself a lot of money last night. You have to think Washington is a favorite to sign him especially since they get along well with boras

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:12 AM) If it were a Red Sox/Yankees game, it would be in the 8th inning

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 06:10 AM) nothing lost nothing gained in the division Danks better go 7 tomorrow. I gotta give Washington credit, this seems to be a strong lineup they're building. Whole lot of power

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 06:07 AM) It should come as no surprise that the fewest walks for someone with 150 games is Ozzie Guillen with 10. Not exactly what you asked for, but hilarious nonetheless. Morel would shatter that

Seems as if Dunn is showing some good signs tonight!

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 06:04 AM) Our top two hitters have a combined OPS of 1.157. Jose Bautista's is 1.140. Any of the stat guys still up? What's the fewest walks in a year for someone with say, 300 at bats?

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
The Sox need to start finding ways to win extra inning games at home. I believe we've only won one all season at home? 1-4 or 5 maybe? Still amazes me that we're not that far out of first, so hopefully we keep our interleague streak alive tomorrow and Sunday.

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 04:58 AM) BTW, Juan Pierre's OPS is now under .600. Yep, lost in the drama of this game is the continued struggles of Pierre. I truly feel like his pink slip day is coming soon, and I would point to maybe after next weekend after the Cubs series?? As for the game, someone elsewhere said to not let losses bother you until this team is .500. Pretty good philosophy

Can't believe the "great" Bixler is playing such a huge role in this game. Their crappy left fielders have reached base 5 of 6 times tonight.
-
F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
Wow, did Bixler get two bases on the throwing error?

Oh boy, what happened?

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (aprec32 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:50 AM) Honest question here as I am an out of towner.......Is there any heat coming right now outside of this board? Yes, maybe more debate about Pierre vs Viciedo than any other position "battle" for the Sox the last few years.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:49 AM) Valverde wasn't on the Tigers in 08. Dye hit a huge go-ahead homer I remembered. I think it was off Doug Jones. You talking about at Detroit? It was Todd Jones, and not Doug Jones and his palm ball.

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:48 AM) As we approach the half-way point of this season, and with the White Sox obviously still very much within striking distance of taking over the AL Central Division, I'm wondering how much longer it will be before the media really starts taking Guillen & Co. into task for the decision to continue on with Pierre not only at the helm of the line-up, but in the line-up at all. That sort of pressure must be forthcoming sooner rather than later. And when it does, it'll be interesting to see how both OG and KW manage that situation. It's started the last two weeks. Seems there's been articles from everywhere.

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:48 AM) Ramon Castro is incredibly goofy in the dugout. He's not quite a Toby Hall or a Nick Swisher, but he's always f***ing around with people. Rios is pretty goofy too. Hopefully Castro has permission to f*** around with those people Nice insight though, I saw the other day that you get to watch Sox batting practice. Sounds fun!

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:47 AM) I remember the Sox dugout exploded 3 years ago when the Sox scored 3 runs to beat the Tigers in the 9th. Valverde?

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:46 AM) This inning. Both teams pitchers are too gassed. So I found a sport that Ozzie would love to manage in. College baseball! Heard a stat the other day that Texas has 7 times as many sac bunts as they do homers this year. What a boring sport that's become.

F*** it III: Sox vs The National. First Pitch 7:10 CT
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 05:44 AM) I can say for a fact that's simply not true. The last few years, the Sox have not been a big "celebration" team. That doesn't mean anything at all. Basically since Swisher left, you don't see any goofiness, etc.
