  1. Even Omar getting into the pull baseball approach. I wonder if Ozzie will shake up the lineup if this goes on another few games? Need to get some offense starting the next few days, as we'll be facing Hernandez on Wed.
  2. Alexei's base running accounted for that run. Hit the ball hard Omar!
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) I have a feeling we don't want to see him pull the ball. How bout a flare to left? I like it when Pierre pulls the ball.
  4. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) The Sox frequently have issues with Dan Iassogna Everyone does...the Mt. f***more of terrible umpires is Iassogna, E. Cooper, Bucknor, and Angel Hernandez
  5. Well, Beckham's our best hitter now! Nice base running by Alexei.
  6. Wow, that wasn't even close to being a strike. Figures this piece of s*** would ring him up.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) How come we can't abuse their total hack of a pitcher and they are hitting our No. 5? They have a great approch against Garcia, who is leaving far too many pitches up in the zone. As for the offense, Blackburn has get burned by the long ball this season, but outside of our 3-4-5, we don't have enough powerful hitters in this gigantic stadium.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) I think I'd still take him ahead of Kotsay/Jones. Did Oswalt get injured today?
  9. Twins are teeing off on Garcia. Let's get some guys on for Beckham.
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) I actually really want Lance Berkman because I think he'd be a great fit for this team, but the problem is we need a RF now, and I doubt Berkman can play RF anymore. Also, Quentin needs to stop shaving. Berkman told the media today he's not even close to 100% healthy. He's damaged goods right now.
  11. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) Outside of that part in the order it really feels like we need 3 singles to plate a run I hate that when Pierre and Vizquel come up to bat with a runner on 2nd, you think they need another 2 hits to score a run.
  12. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) We need some XBH ability outside of the 3-4-5 Absolutely, but we're already hearing excuses for why Jones/Kotsay are going to stay on the roster. I'm definitely of the opinion that it's time to move Beckham back into the 2nd spot.
  13. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) hard to believe this team is in first place; their offensive execution continues to be extremely poor; twins looked like they were on the last legs and the Sox let them back into race Viciedo's botched DP has definitely ignited the Twins. They're having great at bats.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Against this pitcher though, a hit and run would have been a decent idea. It worked so well on Thursday, but we've gotten away from it for the most part. Kotsay with just a pathetic approach there. Ugh KW, get us another bat!
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) dumb, dumb, dumb idea to steal there, especially on an 0-2 count. Yep, I'm surprised Quentin didn't blow out his knee on that stride.
  16. Last week, that 82 mph change-up is hit 400 feet by Quentin. Timing's off now.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) Damnit Paulie Twins are crushing the cookies today, and our hitters unfortunately aren't. Someone's going to have to get a big hit today for us to get back into this game.
  18. BTW, talk about pitching away from your defense. Rios was shading Cuddyer to right center, and Garcia threw a fastball. It's those little things that hurt us when we play the Twins.
  19. Awful pitch by Garcia gives the Twins that run back. Garcia making more bad pitches today than he did during the last month. I really hope KW doesn't panic about the starting pitching when it's the offense that needs a boost.
  20. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) Great. Another sore wrist. He'll recover around ASB of 2012
  21. Hopefully Beckham didn't just injure himself. Last thing we need is for his swing to be impacted.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) I wonder if Earl Weaver, who hated the bunt, ever cared about guys hitting the other way and moving them over. I'm just making conversation. I realize it's what you are suppposed to do and all that. But if you slam a double off the left field wall, nobody's caring you didn't move the runner over. Don't freak, I'm just asking. That's fine if you want to play for the 3 run home run...but this park isn't the right place to be playing that way.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) If Beckham had hit that ball a little to either side, he'd have failed to get the runner over as well. Oh come on...with one out, you're not worried about that. I know you know that.
