  1. He was able to limit the damage. Twins aren't done scoring, so our offense needs to get it going. BTW, Quentin did not look close to 100% in his first AB.
  2. Never seen Buehrle throw so many fastballs.
  3. Wow Buehrle...stop throwing batting practice!
  4. Ugh, another mediocre outing by a starting pitcher is on its way. 4 in a row
  5. Twins always have such a great approach against Buehrle. Our bat speed better pick up, as Pavano is throwing 91 mph fastballs and only PK has put a good swing on it.
  6. Great piece of hitting by Konerko, and Rios has such amazing speed! No idea why Twins didn't throw an offspeed pitch with 2 strikes, but we'll take it.
  7. For me, the Twins are a way bigger threat than the Tigers are. The Tigers starting rotation is so sketchy after Verlander, and their schedule is a lot harder than that of the Twins.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) I thought he was going to be back in September? Nope, super quick healer I guess. Could be back next week.
  9. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) He's full of raw talent. They threw him into the 3 hole in their lineup as soon as they called him up and he didn't skip a beat. The Indians have a nice core of young players, if they put it together before they all demand contracts, they'll be a force to be reckoned with in the AL Central. Sucks for them that Sizemore has completely fizzled out. LaPorta seems to be figuring it out, as he's hitting a lot of rockets these days.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) The Indians are finally doing us some favors. Bout time. Choo's going to be back very soon, which is good because of all their games vs Twins/Tigers.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) YES! INDIANS WINNER! Excellent!
  12. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) Strike out but Inge stole 2nd. Santana's got a good arm for a young catcher. They converted him from a 3b/OF to behind the plate. Surprised to see him handle it as well as he has. He's going to be an absolute star. Leading all catchers in baseball in every offensive stat since June 1st.
  13. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) I'm extremely happy to see someone other than Kerry Wood taking the ball in the 9th for the Indians. The DL trip for Wood is a blessing for the Indians. Wood pitched really well the last few times I watched him.
  14. If Shaq's looking for more money, he should just go back to LSU.
  15. Marmol with an unbelievable meltdown in the 9th!!
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) After awhile I get tired of it, but somebody's got to. It's gotten better, but there's nothing worse than just seeing "f***" if you're following the game thread and not knowing what's going on. Of course, when you see something like "PK!" in the 8th inning of a tie game with a RISP, it's a great feeling.
  17. Knight, are you auditioning to be a play-by-play guy? Between last night and this game, I love it! For those that have to work during games sometimes, it's highly appreciated.
  18. Perez get the 9th for the Indians?
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) Tosca has no clue. Leaves Carmona in with 6 walks + 116 pitches and Damon leads off the 8th with a double. Just have to hope Tigers aren't in the lead now with their mammoth 3-4-5 coming up.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) Damn, no Viciedo or Jones. If Ozzie wants the best defense out there for Buehrle, then why isn't Quentin DHing and Jones in RF? Cause we also have to try and score some runs against a pitcher who has dominated us in the past.
  21. 0 runs in 7 innings for the Phillies against Wells. Making all kind of outs on the bases and leaving men on. Interesting information my buddy told me, but in the next two weeks, the Cubs will miss out on Oswalt, Wainwright, and Jimenez. What stinks is the Sox are facing all of the oppositions top pitchers coming out of the break it seems (Hernandez, Cahill)
  22. Terrible play by the Phillies continues. If they don't make a move to replace Utley, they're not going to make the postseason.
  23. PK has quite a few memorable home runs on first pitch fastballs. There's obviously the greatest play in Sox history. Last month, he hit a game winner in the 8th off of Saito on the first pitch. It's simple, Konerko didn't want to make two straight outs on two pitches against a new pitcher. Hard to blame him.
  24. So, it's beginning to feel like RF is the position we should be trying to acquire someone for. Just DH Quentin the rest of the season, and make it so Andruw doesn't get far too many ABs.
