  1. Meant to say Gavin from the stretch, of course. Directv was updating something, and then it froze. Had to restart it, and my wife said tons of people said something similar.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:58 AM) greg would've argued the Nationals should've tried to win as many games as possible, regardless of draft position in 2008. Nationals should tank the rest of the year to get Rendon!
  3. Watching his first strikeout against Milledge, Lastings missed that pitch by 18 inches.
  4. Nice job by Gavin. Did anyone else have Directv issues today?
  5. Just remember, there are some people on this site that still thinks the MLB draft doesn't matter.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 01:46 AM) He's always been better winding up. I'm just glad he didn't face Santiago out of the stretch. Maybe it's something the Great Don Cooper should work with him on? He's about to get himself in a ton of trouble here. Whenever Gavin pitches from the Floyd, everything seems to go outside to righties.
  7. Farmer was blasting Gavin in the top of the 2nd there, saying how poorly his pitch selection was out of the stretch.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) God damn he's slow. That wasn't even close. He's no J. Ely!
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:41 AM) We missed out on two months of this guy for service time bulls***. No kidding!
  10. FYI, Ga Tech source tells me they don't expect Grimes to ever play college baseball.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) 8.5 here in Vegas. Jeez, would have gone under.
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) What are the chances White Sox get no-hit when we face Nationals next weekend? Low, as they won't let him thrown the number of pitches he would need to get a no-hitter.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:19 AM) It's like he's not even trying to throw hard. God damn. I watched him pitch against UVa in the regionals last year, and I remember thinking he wasn't all that impressive cause they didn't have a radar gun on him. Next thing you know, he has like 14 strike outs against a very good hitting team and made them look like Gordon Beckham on a bad day.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:16 AM) The hitters are going to just have to ignore the curve and hope he can't throw it for strikes often, because they just have no chance to hit that and still cover the array of hard s*** Strasburg throws. The thing is, he has impeccable control.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) I traded Zimm for Crawford straight up a few weeks ago...still not sure how I feel about that... Why would someone want an old, bald coach who gets his ass kicked by Pedro Martinez?
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) Wow did he make McCutchen look bad. You racist asshole
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) Wow, he has some nasty moving heat, a 96 mph sinker, and a wicked, biting curve. And we didn't even see that change. Seems like it took the umpire a bit to get a feel for his stuff, but he called the pitches on Milledge that he missed against that second hitter. This is the first time I have ever really watched Strasburg....gotta say, he looks like he is all that he was advertised to be. Nice to see the National's Park filled and pumped up like that. It's Strasmas in Washington D.C.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) You've got to be kidding me. Those last two breaking balls were disgusting. How do you pick those up when the guy is throwing 97-99? The Nationals have three legitimate superstars in Zimmerman, Strasburg and Harper. Now if they can just stop putting C. Guzman in RF!
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) This guy is just nasty. Holy s***. He's no Hayden Simpson, but he really is something special. It would be great if he's just an absolute stud.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) They better not be able to sign him. That would be the steal of the decade. At least it's the Cardinals!
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) I don't think so. They're not spending the money they are to get these guys only to let them walk when the time comes. I think there really has been a change over there. And it's good to see both the Pirates and Reds with powerhouse potential (at least by NL central standards). Thus making things even more difficult for the Cubs. I said this last year, but with both the Cards and Cubs looking to be possibly fading over the next 2-3 years, it's a great time for the Pirates and Reds to take a big step up. It's important that the Pirates get good value on the veterans they trade in the next year, including Maholm. E. Meek looks to be a promising reliever for them and should be their closer of the future.
