  1. Gotta love taking the bat out of the hands of the guy who is one of the top 20 power hitters in the AL yet letting Rios bat. Good thing this game doesn't really matter.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) My heart is crying for Dye and Rios. They are something like a combined 15 for 140-150 or something. You know they are trying so hard to contribute. That's the thing, you really can't say that about Rios. His work ethic has been questioned one too many times to say my heart is crying for them.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) Nice swings by Castro. Instead of trying to get a solid hit. He is trying to hit the rocks over the fence. I'm eagerly awaiting for the Sox to be eliminated so we can get Flowers some at-bats and Hudson/Nunez more meaningful innings.
  4. Anyone else see the stat on Quentin in ESPN Magazine? He only has 2 home runs on offspeed pitches this season. He was in double digits against offspeed pitches last year. That's called not using the whole field!
  5. Nice effort by Quentin to hit it to the right side...not
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Would be really nice to see Dye and Rios do something. They are sickening. Both of them are allergic to getting the barrel on the ball.
  7. Yep, and there's the amazing hustle by Rios. He didn't run more than 30 feet down the first base line on that lazy fly ball.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) Forcier, for as good as he played the first 3 quarters, has had quite the meltdown here. He just missed a receiver with no one within 10 yards of him. And he goes and completely redeems himself!
  9. You've seen one Jenks 2 inning outing, you've seen them all.
  10. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) Eddings is just horrible How dare you!!
  11. Forcier, for as good as he played the first 3 quarters, has had quite the meltdown here. He just missed a receiver with no one within 10 yards of him.
  12. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) Michigan looking leaps and bounds better here in the 2nd half. ND on the ropes big time. It's pretty obvious how to stop ND. Take away the deep throw, and you have a great chance at stopping their offense. It's been that way since the day Weis showed up on campus.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) JD has 0 rbi in 27 ABs in September. That is hard to do. I think he feels bad for Rios. Dye's played his way out of the discussion for returning to Chicago, I honestly feel. .170 batting average and 5 homers in the 2nd half without any real injury = huge red flag
  14. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) LOL. He's so bad. But hey, KW didn't acquire him to help this season!
  15. It's pretty easy: Rios has absolutely sucked since coming over to the White Sox, and I really believe it hurt our team chemistry. With Rios and his questionable work ethic, he's going to have to really fight to get his mechanics back in order. It's awful watching him hit every ball off the end of the bat because he's pulling off so much. I still think KW has had an awful last year as a GM, but that's been rehashed time and again.
  16. I have never seen a player consistently pull off the ball more than Rios has over the last month. It's absolutely sickening to watch.
  17. I hope the Yankees go far in the postseason just to see shots of Minka Kelly in the crowd for a month.
  18. 2008 was also one of the deepest drafts in history. Guys like Beckham and Smoak could have been top 2 picks in other years.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 04:15 AM) Yes but is there a guarantee we still could''nt have gotten Beckham? How do we know the team ahead of us a slot or two would have taken him? Have you seen the middle infield prospects of the Astros? No doubt they would have picked him instead of Castro. The Reds not taking Beckham right before us is one of the more shocking draft moments of this decade.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 04:08 AM) Cause I could not care less about the draft. Baseball draft is overrated. There are plenty of good players in round one. I want wins. I remember you saying the same exact thing in 2007. I'll stick with Gordon Beckham and a few less meaningless wins.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 03:05 AM) Owned by Oakland in our own park. Why can't this season come to an end? Then why not root for the Sox to lose every game the rest of the way so that they can get a higher draft pick?
  22. Jermaine just looks washed up. At this point, I have no interest in the Sox bringing him back for anything more than 5 million a year as a DH.
