  1. The Swisher trade was absolutely awful, and I'm happy to see KW getting some heat for it.
  2. Games like this from our offense are the ones that really piss me off about the lack of accountability within our coaching staff.
  3. Peavy really shouldn't be out there if he can't cover first base. It's beyond pointless for him to still be pitching this season.
  4. Everyone stay healthy, Beckham put up some good numbers, and lose the rest of the way. Top 10 pick in the draft is well within our reach!
  5. Ole Miss is the worst #4 team in the history of college football.
  6. Good thing the game didn't matter, as Ozzie letting Kotsay hit for Flowers in the 8th with the Twins having a dominating lefty warming up in the pen was just pathetic managing.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) I can't find anything on anyone else specifically. Though there were a nice back and forth with Cowley before Oney got his plug pulled. Great job finding this. As the message says, Jenks is gone. Who knows if there's more to the story than what we've heard this year in regards to him.
  8. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:15 AM) Does anyone else find that lucky peanuts commercial is totally gay? Horribly bad
  9. Seriously, it's time to shut down Buehrle. He's been pretty vocal about his arm feeling tired right now, so just end his season already.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:11 AM) I don't have any metrics in front of me, but I think Abreu is actually significantly worse in the OF than Dye even is. I think I read Abreu is having one of the worst defensive season ever recorded in RF. So if he is signed, that's just to be DH and a real 3rd starting OF would be needed. DWise says hello
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) Abreu in RF and Pods in LF would be one of the 5 worst defensive OF's in baseball even with Rios out there, and would certainly be the worst corner OF defensive combo in the major leagues. Yes, but they would be the champions of called third strikes!
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:30 AM) If this team implodes next year, there could be serious pressure for a move. Couldn't agree more. I think Ozzie's leaving on his own after next season if the Sox don't make the playoffs.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:59 AM) Yep, he's on the Score daily and says the same damn thing every day. Basically: you better start getting used to Scotty Pods. It could be real tough to watch this team next year. I really think Abreu will be the FA signing this offseason and play right field.
  14. Joe Cowley is stating everywhere that Figgins will be out of the Sox price range. I couldn't agree more, as he's going to get so overpaid if the Yanks are actually interested in him.
  15. Scott Merkin's twitter says : http://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/4327849217
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) I believe so. I think it was between Toronto and the Mets, and they just offered a ton more money than the Sox. However, now that you say it, I do sort of remember a story where he bashed Chicago in some way or another. I could be way off.. Either way, things can change. Between PK, Delgado, and Floyd, the hip specialists in Chicago will make a fortune! The Floyd hip situation is really underplayed right now, but I hate hearing he might have to alter his delivery.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) Bing bing bing. I mean, is anyone really genuinely happy with Walker holding his spot down? Please answer this. Walker could be the greatest hitting coach ever, but if he's not getting through to the hitters, then he needs to go.
  18. Read the Oney twitter from last week to see who won't be back.
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) Steve, Come on, I would expect that you wouldn't parrot the nonsense that is on Soxtalk. Walker does not teach hitters to pull the ball, he tries to teach them to use the whole field. Didn't CQ say that Walker was telling him to pull everything when he returned from the DL?
  20. Guess it's time to cheer for the offense to not score (while Beckham goes 4-4, of course)
  21. Congrats Gage. Get ready to spend more time on theknot.com instead of soxtalk.com
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 03:40 AM) Can we really blame Walker for CQ's struggles (which are injury related) Quentin's approach at the plate this season has been a joke basically since opening day. His pull approach is as bad as I've ever seen, and he has no prayer on offspeed pitches this year. Sure looks like even if Walker is trying to work with him, it's not working.
