  1. Seriously, cut it out with running on 2nd down!!
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:00 PM) I think this game is going to mark my transition from a Lovie supporter/apologist to a "fire Lovie" type. Keep running it on 2nd and long, that's worked all year!
  3. Damn hell of a play by Greg Lewis to win that game.
  4. Time to just throw it every play and hope for the best. Hopefully Cutler can do what Rex never could and that is rebound from a slow start to a game.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) How is that Cutler's fault? It's not even on Knox either really. At first look, seemed he tried to finesse it and ball came out bad.
  6. Can't get pressure on Wallace or stop them on 3rd and long. Can't get down 14-0 with our inability to force 3 and outs.
  7. That's just an awful play by Cutler. Have to value the ball more.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) I am afraid Jenks will be back next year as the closer and Matt as the set up guy in the 8th I'd put the chances of Jenks being back at 25%.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) Wow did the Bears defense look horrible on that play. I said this last game, and it worked out...but the Bears suck. The coaching staff is a disgrace.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 09:00 PM) Here's the question I have about the draft and Beckham. Are you or anyone sure the Sox would have drafted Beckham had they had a higher pick and someone else was available? I think the Sox had the worst record in baseball at one point in August that year, but had a decent September. If the Sox had the 4th pick, or 1st maybe they pick someone else. I really don't know. Maybe they had Beckham #1 on their board all along. I think he will be #1 on that board 20 years from now. They were 15-12 in Sept. that year. Maybe they would have drafted Smoak. He'll probably be a pretty good player, but I think Beckham is and always will be better. The Sox thought they had no prayer of getting Gordon in the draft, so he must have been very high on their chart.
  11. It took me one series to remember how much I hate Ron Turner!
  12. Greg, you were saying the same stuff to us in 2007 about not worrying about losing games because we shouldn't care about the draft. I can't believe you're still saying the same stuff after the Beckham experience.
  13. Jermaine seemed extremely shaken up in the clubhouse prior to the game. He knows he's not coming back.
  14. Ozzie confirmed before the game today that it was a veteran who he was calling out, and not one of Ramirez/Quentin/Beckham/Getz/Flowers
  15. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 05:40 PM) I could understand Ozzie being pissed if some players seem to be more interested in a football game than the Sox game. However, if any of Ozzie's ire is directed at A.J. after the way A.J. has played this season as well as his entire time with the White Sox, then Ozzie is truly out of his mind. Also, if the situation is as bad as Ozzie makes it sound, then it appears as if he has truly lost the clubhouse and the respect of his players. If that is the case, maybe he should consider hanging it up. AJP is the main suspect in this situation, no doubt about it. If Ozzie's actually calling him out for not caring, then Ozzie needs to be shown the door.
  16. BTW, after reading this article, it has changed my mind a little on the situation. I have a feeling that there's a particular veteran(s) that Ozzie is referring to and it wouldn't shock me at all if someone very popular with the fans is traded this offseason and many wonder why. I don't think anyone will disagree with the fact that there is something really wrong with the Sox clubhouse for a second straight year, and it's time something is done about it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,5331631.story
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 03:48 AM) It's truly unbelievable how little accountability you place on the players. Read DAllen's post below. If KW really feels like so many players have quit, then why isn't the manager being held responsible?
  18. This Purdue coach is so outmatched. Every game I've watched from them this year, he seems to have absolutely no clue about what he's doing.
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 03:24 AM) Ozzie just had a nice tirade. Something about the players not caring and watching football games. I'm so sick of Ozzie and Kenny trying to rip on the effort of the players. Maybe it's time for Ozzie to look into the mirror and realize these players have tuned him out. His performance during the 2nd half of the season would have gotten many managers fired.
  20. Now that we're out of it, it's good to see Flowers getting some playing time (especially against lefties).
