  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:12 AM) Not a bad first half. Foul trouble really slowed Butler as two big players missed a ton of the half. They have got to keep the pace down though. Thing is, they're getting better looks early in the shot clock. Duke is so disciplined in the half court on defense, they make it very difficult with the shot clock winding down.
  2. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:09 AM) Veasley is garbage. Hopefully he has a big 2nd half. Butler is shooting like crap again, Duke is on fire, and only up 1. This game has been a ton of fun to watch. Veasley had a nice pass to Scheyer there to set up the Smith 3 pointer. Hopefully Howard picks up his 4th foul early in the 2nd half.
  3. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:03 AM) Veasley is singlehandedly costing Butler this one so far. He's having a miserable game. Not as bad as Howard's first 10 minutes.
  4. Every game I've seen of Butler's this tournament, it shocks me how bad Howard and Veasley are.
  5. QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) Jesus Howard is sucking tonight He's sucked all tournament!
  6. Matt Howard is the worst f***ing player. All tournament, he's been awful. Too bad he was cleared for this game.
  7. At what point does Samardjiza just quit pretending like baseball's going to work out for him?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) The Legend of Mark Buehrle grows larger. Is there a cooler player in Sox history? It just took you this long to realize this?
  9. Sounds like a very dominating game. Our 2-3-4 is pretty awesome...and looks like the defense was sensational. Great to see Rios get off to a great start as well!
  10. The Ordonez conversation between KW and Bernstein happened at the beginning of the 2005 season. Bernstein said to KW "I didn't know that knee problems cause your forearms to get twice as big". KW had one of his evil laughs.
  11. KW's evil laugh when Bernstein asked him about Ordonez using PEDs is all you have to know about the situation.
  12. QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) yes, he looked real sharp. very encouraging to see. his brother, on the other hand, looked awful. pulled his head on every swing and didn't come close to making contact. linebrink, well, yeah, he received quite a bit of "encouragement" to do better from all of us behind the dugout. Danks has such a long way to go with the bat. The sooner we trade him and Flowers, the better.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) It has been one of the best ever judging by upsets and last second shots. Nobody cares that every player isnt pro caliber since its college sports, you are stupid if you expect every game to be a showcase of highly skilled players. Yes, all we want is the games to be close and Gus involved.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:28 AM) I love college basketball as well, but this tournament other than the first day has been pretty brutal to watch. The only good games last weekend were Xavier/KSU, MSU/Tenn, and Duke Baylor. The rest of the games were brutal to watch and really after the first day of the tournament the first weekend was pretty boring as well (other than KU/Northern Iowa, MSU/Maryland, and a couple of others). Yep...time to root for Butler on Monday night.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) BTW I love how defensive college basketball fans that aren't big NBA fans can be about the quality of college basketball. I started a thread on an Illinois board about how terrible the quality of play has been throughout this tournament and got attacked by people saying this has been one of the greatest tournaments ever. The first day was amazing and there has been 3 or 4 good games since then but nearly every game last weekend was horrible. I love college basketball more than anything, but this is terrible. Summers is a decent player, but he looks like an NBA guy compared to the rest of the horrible talent on the court.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:09 AM) This MSU/Butler game is horrendous and indicative of how awful college basketball is this year. Haha, I just wrote the same thing. There's two good players on the court....Hayward and Summers. Matt Howard on Butler is the worst "good" player in the history of sports.
  17. Wow is this Butler/Michigan St game terrible. The 2nd half is about the worst basketball you could imagine.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) Linebrink will be on the DL by May 1. How many games will he lose to the Tigers before that date?
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) Why is it Linebrink gets crap for his struggles, but guys like Garcia get away with being worse? I think Linebrink will shock this board and be decent this year. I predict neither finishes with an ERA below 5.
  20. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 04:19 AM) Case and point: Anderson: Game 163. If BA is in the game earlier, I'm not sure he throws out Cuddyer at home the way a declining Griffey did. Griffey knew where to be, took his time to set up correctly and made the throw under control. Anderson, would have made the catch, but he also would have gotten crazy excited to show off his arm and probably would have air-mailed AJ. That ties the game. Everything changes... Oh come on, the only reason they sent Cuddyer is because Griffey Jr's defense had become such a joke. That ball wasn't more than 75 feet into the outfield.
  21. Bucket, have you actually watched Jones play center during ST? He looked like Podsednik out there on a deep fly ball that ended up being a ground rule double. His arm also has been horrific. I think it's a huge mistake to try and make him an outfielder, and it kills Rios' value.
  22. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) Am I the only one who hasn't seen a reason to laud Jones' defense in CF this spring? I don't think he's hurting us necessarily, but I have yet to see him dive, slide, or anything else remotely challenging. He looked awful in the game the other day that was televised on Comcast against the Angels.
  23. Phil Dunphy, FTW!
  24. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 08:55 PM) That was on my predictions list that we will see Hudson more than people realize. I said it'll be from Freddy getting injured, or just not getting the job done. The spect lover in me wants Hudson here as well. Got the better arm. Garcia's fastball is going to have to top 85 mph though if he wants to be effective.
  25. I wonder how many innings it will take before people are calling for Hudson to replace Garcia?
