  1. I think Cal's going to destroy Louisville. The Big East looks awful so far, and Cal has the outside shooting to put Louisville away. I love watching Jerome Randle play, easily one of the most underrated players in the country.
  2. I just had a feeling that there was no way the games today were going to be good after we got so spoiled yesterday. With over half the games yesterday decided by less than 3 points, I'll be surprised if there's 3 games decided by less than that margin.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) What would the call be? A heads up play by throwing the ball off an opponent and then not saying anything while the guy tried to come after him? I hate the guy too, but there was zero foul there whatsoever. Taunting
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) In old news, Kramer is a douche. Seriously, how was that not a technical on him?
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 07:07 PM) my guess is its about recruiting...i would imagine its significantly easier to convince kids to go to a warm weather school than minnesota...though its not as big of a deal as in football or baseball Auburn has a very small recruiting base for basketball, as most of the guys they get are from Georgia. BTW, my source heard this from a current recruit of Auburn's, so it sounds like it's more than just an internet rumor.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:33 PM) lol. I just heard CBSsportsline reported it... YOUR SOURCE IS OUT NOW FATHOM! yeah, it was funny how I heard that on TV about 10 minutes after someone I really trust (a close friend of the GT program) reported this on a GT board. Tubby should have waited to see if Hewitt was going to leave GT, as I'm sure he would have been in play there.
  7. Tubby's leaving for Auburn after this game, according to a great source.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) The foul on the jump ball was bad but Nova didn't score and refs called a make up call the next time down. Not the refs fault RM blew an 8 pt lead with 3 mins left. The jump ball with a minute or so left in regulation that was called a foul on RM was a pretty awful call. Nova was allowed to play extremely aggressive defense in the 2nd half, while every little contact was called on RM.
  9. That was some of the worst officiating I've ever seen. Villanova won because of the refs, no doubt about it.

This show is just super lame right now, but I have faith it will finish strong.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) Can you imagine Hewitt coaching without elite talent. That would be an epic disaster. It's funny, but his least talented team was his first season at GT, and they made the tournament and really overachieved. However, his biggest issue has been that he has terrible assistant coaches. Rumor is that Jeff Lebo will be brought in to be their X and O guy next year as an assistant. I just can't believe anyone would want him as your coach. Maybe you should read his comments relating to black players playing for Miami football instead of GT football because they have a black coach?
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) No, I have no source. I know GT is not happy with Hewitt, but he's done a pretty good job by my standards. I'm not expecting Iowa to become a national powerhouse, I'd be happy if they got back to contending for a big ten title every few years and made the tourney 75% of the time. Hewitt's had one above .500 record in the ACC during his ten years in Atlanta. He's been a debacle, and he owes Jarrett Jack and Will Bynum millions of dollars for one tournament run.
  13. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Fathom where have you heard Udoh is coming back? Everything I have heard is that Udoh is going to seriously test the waters along with Dunn. There was an interview with Drew a month ago where he said that Udoh told him that he has no desire to go pro, and that he was for sure returning next season. Considering this is Udoh's 4th college season, I think he'd be nuts to return.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) If he is that dirty, the NCAA will be knocking on his door in no time. It's Baylor...as long as you don't try to frame one of your deceased players as a drug dealer, then you're considered a good guy.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Iowa might kick the tires on Paul Hewitt. Is that an actual source? If that's true, I pray to God that you guys take him. Trust me, you don't want him. No one gets less out of their talent than he does. No doubt in my mind that GT would have been better if they just didn't have a coach the last 5 seasons. I also don't think he'd relate well to the recruits in the state of Iowa. He plays the race card very, very often with recruits.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) If that is the case, the sooner he gets out, the better. Why get out now though when he finally has his superstar, Perry Jones, coming to campus? I think after next season will be when he jumps elsewhere.
  17. And BTW, Keno Davis is the exact opposite of Lickliter. His Providence team was one of the worst defensive squads I've ever seen, but at least they were efficient on offense.
  18. I can't see Drew leaving Baylor this offseason. He has a top 3 player coming in next year, and his best player on the current roster, E. Udoh, is expected to return next season. You're looking at a top 10 team for 2010-2011. He's also known as one of the shadiest recruiters in all of college basketball.
  19. Ozzie might be leaning towards batting Kotsay 5th! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,3094909.story
  20. Have fun with Pods in CF, Kansas City.
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 03:27 AM) He's looked really good too. Kotsay that is. Has he?
  22. First AB I've seen from Andruw Jones this year, and I'm extremely impressed. Lined a double into right center. With that said, I'm already sick of hearing Hawk praise Mark Kotsay.
  23. I should have never underestimated the crappiness of UNC's guards.
  24. I'm so excited that there's 24 minutes left in the career of Paul Hewitt. That motherf***er has been stealing money for 4 seasons now. He can take his BCA agenda and clogged toilet offense and get the f*** out of Atlanta.
  25. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Sounds like a crappy situation all-around. Any ideas on possible replacements? Nope, GT fans always like to throw Mark Price's name in the mix, but I was told that's not likely to happen. Since they wouldn't have a lot of money to spend on their new coach, they'd go after a younger guy like Cameron Dollar, Chris Collins, etc. One of the things that sucks about being a GT fan is that a majority of their fans only care about football. They'd rather give raises to the assistant football coaches than to have a competitive basketball team.
