  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Pretty much killed UAB's at large hopes too. UAB is going to have to win the conference tourny most likely now as well to get in. And getting destroyed by So Miss today
  2. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) So fathom, if Hewitt wins today does that save his job for another year? What some of the best sources are saying, if they lose tonight and don't make the tourney, they will do everything in their power to fire him. The thing is, that decision has to be made by Monday, or else his contract rolls over another year. If they win tonight and make NCAA Tourney, and then go one and out, the AD will fire all the assistant coaches in an effort to get Hewitt to quit and settle for about half of the remaining contract. Everyone involved with GT wants Hewitt out, and the AD went as far to say last night that everyone knows there's "unique circumstances" relating to the job evaluation of Hewitt. Unique = ridiculous contract signed by previous AD.
  3. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) Turner is fantastic as well, both guys do everything for their squad. I would just take Monroe's season against a tougher schedule and size over Turner. Monroe, Turner, and Demarcus Cousins would be my three finalists. But I know either Wall or Turner will win it. It would be an absolute joke if Wall wins POY.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) True but he's still their third best big anyways. Syracuse is actually much better with him out of the game.

I'm officially bored as hell with this show right now. The flash sideway destroyed the momentum of the show, in my opinion.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) The most important aspect of the show for several seasons was the danger of the others and Ben and trying to find out where they came from, now they are pretty much irrelevant as the "Temple" has been brought into play for some reason and who knows what those people are doing there. Yep, looking back on things, there's maybe 3 seasons that was completely wasted (if not more). The whole Dharma thing was pretty worthless in retrospect.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Which means we would be a 65 win team for years until we caught lightning in a bottle. No thanks. Kenny can keep dealing prospects for proven players as far as I am concerned. Couldn't agree more, especially because we're never competitive in the FA market.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) Do you honestly think that people would be willing to keep buying two million or so tickets a year while the minor league system developed as we quit bringing in replacement players via trade? Not a chance in hell with our fan base

Well, that would be a hell of an ending if that guy's theory is correct.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Really? Ahead of Posey, Smoak, Alvarez, Matusz, the other Beckham? I think you can make a case for any of them. Probably others too. If you look at what Tampa has, they're pretty set at the corners. Considering their window to win is the next 2 seasons likely with the Crawford/Pena groups, Gordon would have been the best fit. I think Posey's going to be a huge flop, BTW
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) If that draft got a do-over, where does Gordon go? First, especially with Bartlett looking like a star at SS for Tampa.
  12. I think Flowers is great trade bait. From what I've seen of him, he has a bit of Josh Fields' syndrome where he can't catch up to Major League fastballs. I don't think he'll ever be a solid batting average guy. If he can put up Mike Napoli-esque numbers, I'd be very happy.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 01:43 AM) Is there a more overrated player from the Big Ten than Kalin Lucas in the last decade? Nope, it's pathetic
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 02:16 AM) Uh oh, Felix is going to be upset. Damian Johnson doesn't even make the Big 10 all defensive team and Kramer won defensive player of the year. I guess flopping all over the place and fouling people on every possession is the key to being defensive player of the year. I can't believe Mike Davis made it over Damian Johnson! Just kidding...I can't wait to see Kalin Lucas be listed way too high in postseason award voting.
  15. Fairfield's going to burst someone's bubble if they upset Siena here.
  16. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) I agree. If Kotsay falls flat on his face, this guy good be looking at some serious at-bats. But that probably won't happen. Isn't he another slap hitter?
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) According to Ranger, it's still "early" to ride him out.. though many of us knew.. he was a long shot unless he pitched very well (1-2 era), or Santos, Hudson, Torres, etc.. all had 8 eras which I called a while back. It could be game 160 of the season, and certain people would say it's still too early to make a call on a person's ability.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) If Illinois beats Wisky and OSU they are 100% in. If they beat Wisky they are very likely in the tourney. If they lose, sadly the bubble is so bad they would still have a slim shot although they sure as hell wouldn't deserve it. If they lose to Wisconsin, they're out. Their RPI is awful, and with 13/14 losses and losing 5 of their last 6, they'd have no shot.
  19. Wow, Weber and McCamey getting into it there.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) lol Illini hasnt scored from the floor in 10 minutes and your complaining about the refs? Their last 12 points have been on ft's. Yeah, this is getting pretty ridiculous.
  21. After looking at that play again, it's a tough call. McCamey wasn't going to shoot the ball when he got fouled, and instead threw it up. Technically, it's the proper call. However, you never see it called accurately.
  22. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) That's an and one...just sayin No kidding, that was like 5 seconds quicker than that one against Michigan St to win the game.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) This collapse down the stretch by Illinois to put themselves into potential NIT position has been very impressive. They get as little out of their players as any team I've seen this year, Weber should be proud. Please don't sell Paul Hewitt short.
  24. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) It's disgraceful. He was already tripping over his own feet before any contact with Demetri Honestly, with how often it's called, I'm shocked more players just don't flop all the time.
  25. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) Don't wanna hear anyone saying Illinois is getting homer calls too, this crew is clueless. Mccameys 2nd foul was a joke That's called every time though. It was a flop by Taylor though, and I hate teams that teach that to their defensive players.
