  1. Just take that slider to right Beckham
  2. This bottom of the order is doing wonders lately.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) Getting on base is never dumb. It is when there's 2 on in scoring position and pitcher is up next. However, it's just an instinct thing.
  4. BTW, perfect example of why guys like Zambrano and Peavy thrive in the NL but would struggle not getting to face the pitcher in 97 pct of their starts. Their stuff is just too good for opposing pitchers to hit.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) Floyd took some nice swings. Big Z is way to jacked after striking out a pitcher. He's the biggest piece of s*** in baseball. I don't know what else he has to do on the baseball field to prove it.
  6. Well, at least we're not going to get no hit (and I'm serious, that's a worst case scenario in a game like today with this jackass on the mound).
  7. We can't afford to let Zambrano get into a rhythm. When he gets it going, the next thing you know is it's the 7th inning and you have no hits.
  8. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:28 PM) Just got in from luch. Wind is blowing out. The pitcher that keeps the ball down and gets K's will win. Get the ball up and its going to be a long day. That really favors the Cubs, as Floyd throws a lot more high fastballs than Zambrano does.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:48 AM) Today's game garnered about a 9 second mention 53 minutes into an hour-long episode of Baseball Tonight. Sweet. Did they analyze the epic MacDougal-Cano match-up in the 9th tonight?
  10. Couple of things: - Did Houston play on IRod playing in Texas tonight for his record breaking game? If so, that's pretty cool - Check out David Wright's performance against LHP this season.
  11. Trevor Hoffman and Milwaukee just blew a 4 run lead in the 9th against Cleveland.
  12. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) Fantastic overall win. Just a great game all around. Great game to follow online!
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 09:42 PM) I hate to knit-pick, but is Beckham ever going to make a diving stop and cleanly throw someone out? His game today defensively left a lot to be desired. As someone who went from SS to 3rd base in high school, that's one of the hardest parts of the transition. At SS, you get a lot more of a running start to the dive. At 3b, you end up overextending yourself a lot on the dive.
  14. Thome hit a bomb off of this guy the last time he faced him.
  15. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) I'd love to see a matchup of Fields v. Marmol Ha, reminds me of Mark Reynolds homering off of him in the 2007 NLDS.
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) Not a terrible inning by Line. Nice 3 run cushion for Jenks Did exactly what he had to. And scouting report time...be prepared for Bradley trying to bunt leading off the 9th!!
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) I don't know what the hell has happened to Linebrink, but he needs to find his stuff quick. One pitch pitcher, and I believe the injury last year has prevented him from putting the ball just a little above the zone like he mastered last year.
  18. Who's coming in? Have a feeling it will be Linebrink, even though Thornton should be our 8th inning man.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) Uhh, that was pretty much the entire reason for that post. People overreact and make stupid posts for EVERY loss and it becomes sad-funny at a certain point. You're way, way too good of a baseball person to get caught up in just posting stuff about other people's posts. I also think you should see how the new rules on the site hold up, as things seem to be more relaxed in the game threads.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) HE IS A HORRIBLE IN-GAME MANAGER!!!@#@$ DON'T DEFEND HIM, HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED SO WE CAN GET JERRY MANUEL!@!@@ If you're going to post stuff like this, then please feel free to post in games that the Sox are losing also.
  21. That was a really good job by Ozzie of having Wise run for Dye.
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) this team makes so many f***ed up mistakes Our communication between our infielders could use a lot of work. Of course, we do have 3 new starters at positions there, so that's a little understandable.
