  1. Jenks just dominated Granderson earlier in his career. It's amazing how many homers Jenks has given up since the last few months of last season until now (in comparison to the start of his career). Trade him now before his value decreases more.
  2. Pull Floyd before he can be in line for the loss. Hell of a start by Gavin.
  3. Oh Geoff, you magnificient son of a b****
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) He's look very defensive over the last two weeks. His calf is hurting, and he looks like he's really struggling to get his lower half going in time to hit a fastball.
  5. It's crazy that Dye only has 2 homers with RISP all season. I wonder how many of his homers have come on curves compared to homers this year?
  6. No one can hit Cubs pitching now. It's amazing how many low scoring games they're involved in.
  7. That was one of the more predictable homers.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) I agree. The reaction to Beckham helped any fears I had about a mass fanbase revolt. There will be some murmurs if PK, Danks and Dye go, but people will get over it quickly. Also, KW will mix young players with vets next year with the payroll flex... hell I could see him doing it at the deadline this year, ie getting a younger player off a bad team who's locked up for a few years. Danks?
  9. I know a lot of people are worried about how the fans react to the Sox unloading players (to start the rebuilding). However, if we lose today, I think it goes a long way to erasing any concerns about the reaction fans have. The only who fans will struggle with getting traded is Jenks.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) yeah, but he's still young enough that even if he struggles he can impress scouts agreed, as long as he's over 94 mph on the radar gun, no one will care about his actual results (regarding scouts)
  11. The more I think about it, the more I'm shocked the Sox basically gave up on Colon. I love the fact they did it, as it was obvious he wasn't adding to the fastball as the season went on. It's definitely a move that you wouldn't see them do in year's past.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:29 PM) Plus we get to see Danks and Floyd battle through and hopefully get themselves ontrack. Floyd appears to have turned the corner and I'm hoping for his 4th straight good outing. Hopefully danks turned the page yesterday You can tell Danks focused more on his landing area last night. He did a great job with it until the 7th, but it's still promising.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) I think I'm passed that stage. I was there a few weeks ago. At this point for me, it's about watching Beckham every day, and now hoping to see Poreda get some innings. On top of it, we are getting to see how Getz and Anderson handle starting every day, Ramirez dealing with playing short, and seeing who is going to be in the team picture for next year. Maybe the biggest thing of all is seeing if Danks can show he can be counted on as a top-tier pitcher in the upcoming years. If he can't be, then the whole retooling process is in deep s***.
  14. MacDougal continues to look good. Also, Masset's pitching in the same game. He looks absolutely awesome this season. 95 mph fastball with fantastic offspeed pitches.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:38 AM) His first out was to second base, solid strike on the ball. These stuff type pitchers are just what the doctor ordered. Less thought, more natural ability taking over. And he already makes better contact at the plate than Borchard and Fields could have ever dreamed of.
  16. Sweet, possible DL trip for Konerko. Brandon Allen, come on up!
  17. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:33 AM) Paulie has been playing with a loose ligament in his thumb for a while. Fields will be at 1st for tomorrow. Did they say how long he's expected to be out? I want him back next Tuesday.
  18. One thing all soxtalk can agree on is we love Geoff Blum.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:27 AM) You know? That HBP call really cost us the game didn't it? Only if you assume Inge doesn't hit into a double play really. I'm more upset that the 3-2 to Raeburn crossed the plate. Oh, and with Beckham being safe at 2nd, he scores on Getz's single.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:24 AM) im not even sure if i'm mad at this point...Verlander was absurd tonight...the sheer fact that he had 17 losses last year with that kind of stuff is mind boggling. Agreed, he's going to win the Cy Young
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:23 AM) Would of loved to of seen Wise PH and strike out. I'm sure nobody would of b****ed. Hawk and Stoney were definitely waiting for Wise, as they mentioned the stats.
