  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:20 AM) Who do you want, Wise or Nix? Wise...actually, D. Ward. Just like last night, our lack of a lefty hitter on the bench was huge.
  2. What a shocker, Fields strikes out. Ozzie just doesn't know his personnel. And please, send down Gobble and call up D. Ward.
  3. No way in hell you let Fields face Verlander.
  4. One of the downfalls of bunting is the 1 pitch outs. Verlander's still in the game for the 9th.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) we are a good team that does absolutely nothing right. sorry, that means you're a bad team. We're 13th in RISP in the AL, and when you lack power like we have this year, that means everything.
  6. I was told tonight we're confident we can sign Thompson, but Goodwin is about a 10% likely signee.
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:08 AM) Bone Bruise, the sequel, it looks like, which is unfortunate Hopefully he's back for Milwaukee, as our lineup at NL parks is looking AAA-ish.
  8. Excellent managing yet again. I can't believe we bunted to get to two guys who look overmatched tonight.
  9. Pods would have needed an extra base hit to score Getz with as shallow as they were playing him. Bunting with this team is just so stupid.
  10. Yay, a bunt. Still need a hit to score him.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) I feel really good about Danks tonight. A great turnaround from his last start. If PK and CQ are out for an extended period, I don't know if I'd rather have Danks have a real good start like this and we lose or the Sox win 10-7 and Danks looks like crap again. I think I'll take this outcome.
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) I thought last year was the worst year I've seen by umpires calling Sox games until this year, this is by far the worst, and that first pitch to Beckham was just awful, my god. That's something that has to get cleaned up as the year goes on, even yesterday there was a check-swing strikeout against Konerko that wasn't even f***ing CLOSE to being a swing Oh, and I think the 1B umpire yesterday that called Konerko out on that check swing is the guy behind the plate tonight Yeah, he needs to be talked to from his higher-ups, this is uncalled for As Hawk and Stoney are saying, no one is complaining, so I guess our players/coaches agreee with the call.
  13. Would it kill someone on the Sox to ever argue a close call? We have really got the short end of the stick in this series from the umps.
  14. Seriously, does Lance Berkman own stock in the Cubs or something?
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) Thank god we bunted BA over to third in the 6th. Otherwise, we would have had 3 outs to strand that runner. I'm fine with that bunt, all things considered.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:43 AM) The server site was hit by severe storms. We're back. Does that mean Anderson's nice double off of a RIGHTY didn't happen?
  17. Hawk and Stone are begging for someone in the dugout or on the field to get ejected.
  18. Here's something for KW to ponder: does he go ahead with the idea of Quentin as our franchise DH starting next year and fill in LF and RF if Dye/Thome leave? That could open up a spot for a leadoff hitter.
  19. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) # KW said Ozzie's timetable on Quentin is off, and the outfielder should be back quicker than Guillen thinks.10 minutes ago from txt These two are acting like a married couple on the verge of divorce.
  20. Two more losses, and I wonder if CQ gets surgery on his foot. The recent Cowley information about CQ, located in the thread about his health, is awful! 2009 has just been a disasterous season for him.
  21. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) Don't count on it... We rarely ever pay over slot. The Danks situation last year was a special circumstance. Maybe KW has a good relationship with the Thompson family? The only negative I heard about our first day picks was that some think Mitchell was going to be there at 38, and Phegley there for our 3rd pick. Oh well, I'm sure someone we think will be good will suck, and vice versa.
  22. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) Looks like Fathom was right and we're going cheap this year... oh well, hopefully some of these guys turn into ball players. This is so disappointing. Maybe we'll be active in the International free agency period...yeah right
  23. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 05:41 AM) If Dye misses any signifcant time, Josh Kroeger will be making his AL debut very soon. No, we'd rush Quentin back.
