Palehose vs. Twinkies 7/29--7:10pm--CSN
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:45 AM) I mean seriously. f***ing Detroit had every f***ing ball in the world fall in, and we cant get f***ing one. It's just unreal. It's always that way in Minnesota. It seems like they have 8 outfielders.

At least he was looking for the first pitch fastball. Hawk's going to make that sound like the most vicious line drive in history. Terrible loss...bad offense, bad scouting, and questionable managing. Hell of a series!

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:43 AM) Haha, he had no chance. He's been overmatched by closers all season.

Terrible AB by Getz. He seems to be great in the 8th inning, but strikes out a ton in the 9th inning. That pitch was a 58 footer.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:40 AM) It's amazing how many great pitches to hit we just look at. It's not like Nathan is going to walk Getz, so he should have been hacking.

So is it Getz or Kotsay that hits one to the warning track? If Gomez robs a home run here, I worry about SF1's safety.

Why would Hawk say you don't give him the 3-0 green light?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:35 AM) How bout a little bloop like Marcus Thames got. Did you know that was Thames' 4th hit to the right side all season?

If we don't score here, at least we can say this was Jenks' best series since well before the All-Star Break.

Nice non 3rd call on that 0-2 pitch.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 02:23 AM) The last week is. Our offense sucks right now. That's the bottom line. Last week? You were on here saying it sucked during the Tampa series, and it basically sucked since in the Orioles series besides the first game.

Pods is playing with zero confidence right now. We've seen this from him before in the past. Really be a good idea to give him a rest sometime this weekend. He's a step or two slow out there.

QUOTE (CQMVP @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 02:17 AM) At what point is management held responsible for this team? Just like how Buddy Bell came into our minor league system and broke things up, we desperately need that with our big league club.

Palehose vs. Twinkies 7/29--7:10pm--CSN
Have the Twins even come close to making an error this series? I also guess it would have been too much to ask that Getz hit for Nix against a RHP.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:14 AM) Contending is contending . I don't care how bad the division is a hot streak and you can be in 1st place easily. Well, we better start playing better baseball. We face two of the hottest teams in baseball over the next week, and if we continue to struggle to score more than 3 runs, we could easily find ourselves 6 or 7 games out.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:13 AM) If we do contend, Kotsay is a much needed PH off the bench. We are probably the worst team in all of baseball when it comes to pinch hitting. However, if we don't contend, Kotsay will be the equivalent of 2007 Erstad. Do you actually trust Ozzie to use Kotsay properly though? Also, as I discussed yesterday, with Fields being sent down, what righties would Kotsay even PH for?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) I fear this team is going to be mercilessly booed off the field the next four days - that means you too, weezy (how soon they forget!) Considering it will be 40% Yankees fans, there's no way the boos would be audible enough.

QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 03:11 AM) You honestly think there is any chance in hell KW will actually sell? They're gonna be 3 games out. KW is not selling no matter how s***ty they're playing, they will never be more than 5-6 games out all season long. I've said it before, I'll say it again... I'm not saying trade Dye (even though it would be interesting to see what we could get for him), Konerko, Thome. It's guys like Dotel and/or Contreras that should be dealt. I highly doubt our fans will shed a tear if Dotel is traded.
