  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) So if we lose tonight and BA is in the lineup, what will the next thread topic be? Trade for a starter? Clayton Richard is not a starting pitcher? Maybe Jenks blows a save and its Trade Bobby Now? Top 10 most likely threads to be started if we lose (where's Caulfield these days?): 1- We need to promote Bekhum 2- DFA Betemit and promote David Cook 3- Ramon Castro has nothing on Donald Lucy 4- Why can't we hit newcomers? 5- Jake Peavy would have won this game 6- Why do Farmer and DJ dislike each other? 7- What can we get for Linebrink at the deadline? 8- We need Lillibridge up for his hit and run ability 9- How much would Pedro Martinez cost? 10- Wise would have got a hit with the bases loaded
  2. I can't believe people are so blind as to what will happen. CQ returns on 6/10, and Wise is likely DFA'd (even though it could end up being Betemit). Pods will become our starting CF, and Anderson will be our 4th outfielder. He'll play for CQ when he's hurt and give Pods a break once a week.
  3. I could see the Angels taking Scheppers...seems like their type of pick.
  4. Still stand by my statement that Jared Mitchell will be our first pick. I also see the Sox taking Storen, the reliever out of Stanford, with a 2nd round pick.
  5. Lineup prediction Pods 7 Ramirez 6 Dye 9 Konerko DH Anderson 8 Castro 2 Fields 5 Betemit 3 Nix 4
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) I am starting to think that KW is wanting to replace Bart in the rotation, and Clayton is staying But won't most teams be asking for Clayton now? It is interesting that KW seems to be using Poreda as a trade chip than as a possible contributor to the Sox, and I think most of us on here like that.
  7. How in the world do you pitch to Chipper there? I'll take it though...I love Heilman.
  8. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 03:40 AM) Whoever pitched the last inning for the Braves. Not exactly a rookie.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 03:35 AM) Does anyone put "as" in the middle of their sentences more than you, as I see you do it quite often. Ashole
  10. Honestly, I can't believe we didn't score tonight. Mazzaro looked so bad in the first 2 innings. Tomorrow's lineup needs to be righty dominant, as their pitcher destroys lefty hitters.
  11. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 03:30 AM) This rookie throwing some heat. BTW Bradley with a strained calf. You mean Soriano?
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:31 AM) what is this, the f***ing "turn over your pitching staff with rookies" year? I can't remember a season where we had to face so many new guys we'd never faced before can anyone else? Our offensive numbers really should be so much better this year, as we've faced a lot of bad pitchers.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) And porcello next week. Who are we missing from Detroit next week? I think it's Porcello.
  14. So guess who got pulled after 1 inning tonight? Mr. Poreda/Richard/Hudson/Broadway himself. It's not his elbow though, as it's his ankle I believe.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:28 AM) And the next day. And we'll face one this weekend likely.
  16. Wow, Crosby is so damn skinny. He's a pretty obvious former PED user.
  17. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:27 AM) It's been like that for a while now, some no name rookie always shuts us out...I'm gonna put my to put my mortgage on it next time,I swear to effing Christ. You'll have your chance tomorrow.
  18. And the Braves fail to score in the 10th, yet again after getting the leadoff man on and then bunting him over. Cubs will score in the 11th with the top of the order up.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:22 AM) True that is more of the frustration of Betimet bleeding over... still though Pods is not the answer. He has horrible base running insticts as seen in the PO in the 1st and even worse defense as seen in the inability to even get in right position to make a throw also in the 1st. His defense has been great. He had no chance to throw the guy out in the 1st. That was a deep fly ball near the stands. I say this nicely, but stop!
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:17 AM) I realize what it said I'm just lost as to why anyone would be calling to DFA Pods right about now (Not even Kalapse). I'm far from the Pods bandwagon too. It had to have been a joke.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:15 AM) It was a catch that a normal CF makes in stride without looking like he had to put in max effort. For Wise and playing shallow, its a web gem. Thats the difference between a good OF and a guy using cunning and gile to get by. His catch at the wall was insulting last night. After seeing it again, it wasn't close to going out, but he lifted it over his left shoulder to make it seem tougher.
  22. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 02:11 AM) Think of it this way, was 2008 Swisher worth Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Sweeney, and De Los Santos? Apparently to some on this board, we shouldn't question the contributions of those who were part of a (weak) division team. To answer my first question, I say "no." I hate this question (not directed towards Santo, as I know exactly what he's saying). It's not that those guys have been good, but you could have got someone else really good for that package.
  23. Betemit's like a girl you don't want to date, but just bang on the side cause she's supposed to be good for an occasional bang. However, you then realize that she's not even good for the occasional bang....and you have to get rid of her.
