  1. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:58 AM) What? The season ended with CQ's injury assuming you had winning the World Series as your goal. Backing into the playoffs isn't anything to write home about. Wait until Tony sees this one. I just want this team to make the playoffs. Not for one second has it seemed like this is the White Sox's year to win the World Series.
  2. As someone pointed out in the game thread, it's 5 years to the day of The Paniagua
  3. Not until the Twins are ahead of us in the standings. However, I felt like the season ended with Konerko's injury from a psyche standpoint.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:36 AM) Why have the Jays underachieved so badly? This is a damn good team. I guess their division is lethal. Their offense has been bad.
  5. It's crazy to think the Jays were close to trading Rios for Lincecum.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) I knew there was a reason I stopped following our minor leagues. Are you Dave Wilder?
  7. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Yeah, but Lee was a POS and quite frankly, is a loser. Guys like him are great hitters and all, but the teams they are on never amount to anything. Says who? Has to be the most underrated player in Sox history.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) That is the problem, you shouldn't be looking to add speed, but rather fundamentally sound hitters. Guys who hit line drives and make consistent contact. It really sucks we couldn't get Miguel Cabrera this offseason.
  9. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:31 AM) First off, he hasn't gotten "the most" out of his talent every year. And even if he did, that doesn't make him a great manager. In some aspects it does. But in-game, Ozzie is completely clueless. I didn't know the Sox were a 50 million dollar payroll team.
  10. Like someone said earlier, there are a lot of terrible players on the White Sox roster right now.
  11. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:29 AM) This team needs diversity in the lineup. We need to sprinkle some guys who can hit line drives around to agument the power hitters. I thought you meant Brian Anderson
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) daa, this team is what it is. This is a HR hitting team first and foremost. It's been that way since about 2000. It's going to take an entire makeover and change in organizational phillosophy before you see a change. So it's not even worth complaining about things like OBP, sac bunting, ect. Agreed, and when we make trades to try and add speed, we end up lowering the talent level of the squad (Lee for Pods)
  13. It's sad to see Griffey have absolutely no power. It was like when Jordan couldn't even dunk at the end of his career.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:21 AM) I would say scoring 3 runs in 17 innings in the modern era, in one of the easiest parks to hit in would be my inexcusable moment. This is like every other Sox season over the past 6 years or so. The offense just goes to hell the last month or so of the season.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) I wasn't able to watch it, but what was his reaction to going down? It was in reference to Vince Young. PK reacted like he was done for the season.
  16. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:17 AM) Lets hope it's an MCL injury. Worst case scenario with the MCL is surgery, and then 3-4 months recovery time, meaning he would at least be ready around ST. Let's just hope he doesn't go crazy tonight and the Sox have to call the police on him.
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:08 AM) i hate the cocksucking mother f***ing twins I happen to like the Twins lately, as they've been brutal and had some losses that are inexcusable.
  18. You know, I'm getting sick of sitting around the computer waiting for medical reports to be posted. After the Quentin stuff last Friday, hopefully things are fine with Konerko. Of course if it was the Cubs, he'd probably miss one game at the most.
  19. So it's the MCL? I'm sure they'll take him for an MRI, but even if it's torn, at least it's not the ACL.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) Second guessing is so easy to do. The Yankees second guessed Torre all the time; now they have a clown in Girardi. Oz has gotten the most out of his talent this year. Any manager we had you can second guess 10 moves in any loss. That's a fact. He's a great manager. So, you condone of the bunt attempts in this afternoon's game? How about letting Jerry Owens bat with the go-ahead runner on 2nd base? How about letting Wassermann face G. Anderson? Who can forget the Horacio debacle in Baltimore, followed up with having AJP "try" to bunt in front of Quentin.
  21. Swisher is a better hitter than Uribe, end of story
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 03:07 AM) haha...not that backup catcher is ever a huge concern, but you can add toby to the list of players i won't miss next year With Konerko out, he may be our back-up 1st baseman.
