Good night, as the Twins lose.

Five straight good starts from our main 4 pitchers. At least it's not 2006 where a quality start was a myth.

Is it me, or does it seem we've lost a ton of games with Buehrle on the hill in match-ups that sure seemed to favor the Sox?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:44 AM) I guess we have to rely on DWise to drive in our runs. Except we face a lefty tomorrow. At least Anderson (your buddy) will play.

What did Jackson do?

Just a terrible loss. Absolutely no focus at the plate, and the players were going through the motions. Some very mediocre decisions being made as well. Go Indians

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) How does he have 5 losses? They use him in tie games so often that any run he allows will result in a likely loss.

Damn, that was a great play by Cano.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) Begs the question...what would you rather have: Either giving Richard or Broadway a start...or having short rotation and relying on this bullpen for 4 innings? Personally...I'd have rather given Broadway a start. Ok...lemme have it. I'd rather have Carrasco start every 5th game. This is two games now since we went to this bullpen where the quality starts by our pitchers were wasted because they had to be pulled early.

Luckily, it looks like we'll miss Greinke and Meche this weekend.

FWIW, my brother saw Hughes pitch last week in the IL playoffs, and he said he was fantastic. K'd 12 in 5 innings.

I didn't want to create a thread for this, but what's everyone's prediction for this 10 game road trip?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) Yes, more awesome baseball! This teamk is going to embarrass itself in the playoffs. That's fine with me, just make it. Not wanting to go to the playoffs because you think you'll lose is lame. Why even play the season then?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:18 AM) If there is anyone that is due to run into one its JD> He's been useless of late. How about just a cheap homer to right field?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:14 AM) Coke, Joba, Mariano isnt a bad 789 No kidding...Joba/Mariano at the end of a bullpen is about the best you'll ever see.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 02:12 AM) How is it poor pitching when you only have one reliever pitching well and he pitched twice yesterday. Because Wassermann is probably the 7th best righty reliever on this roster. MacDougal, Russell, and Carrasco are better options in that situation.
-
Sox @ Yanks 6:05 on CSN
So why didn't MacDougal start this inning?
