Wow, that was awful by Jermaine. Shouldn't he be playing no doubles? The defense tonight is really letting us down.

Keep the fastball on the outside, as Roberts is yanking the inside pitch.

Good call by the umpire.

Prepare to be watching tomorrow's game for a long time, as Niemann is known as the Steve Trachsel of the minors.

Interesting stuff about Niemann's sister that I'll discuss during tomorrow's game.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) I know thats probably not the right way to go about it, and not a very popular strategy, but I love it, and agree with it 100%. The only time I'd disagree with it is if we're playing the Twins or Indians, and Sizemore/Mauer/Morneau are up in big spots and a base isn't open.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) me either, it really doesn't make sense, boone is fresh and has been lights out this year against left-handed hitters, even though linebrink got the out, he was left out there too long. Ozzie's philosophy seems to be that Linebrink is the 8th inning guy. If he can't get it to Jenks, then we don't deserve it. As long as he keeps the lead for the Sox, I don't see Ozzie changing this.

Bad at bat by Huff....thankfully we threw him offspeed stuff.

I can't believe he's letting Linebrink face Huff.

Where is Boone Logan?????

Ouch....you won't see that again this season. The defense has been brutal tonight.

3 batters here for Linebrink, if it gets to Scott, we should see Boone.

Oh Quentin, that was impressive!

Wow, aced him! As Hawk said, he made the pitch he had to. Just a quick observation, but Dotel is overthrowing his pitches. That's causing his slider to hang in the batting zone more than it normally does. If he took a few mph off of that pitch, he'd be more effective.

Isn't Roberts significantly better against RHP?
-
4/17 Gamethread: Sox (9-5) at Orioles (8-7); 6:05; CSN
Bring in Logan to face Roberts. Dotel just has very average stuff now.

Wow, terrible walk by Dotel. He really throws a lot of high, sailing fastballs. Payton is a very good high fastball hitter.

QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) Thornton in. Great start by Floyd again. I thought he had the best fastball he's had in a Sox uniform.
-
4/17 Gamethread: Sox (9-5) at Orioles (8-7); 6:05; CSN
If Floyd is out for the 7th, we should pull him if he allows one runner.

How about just a flare to right to score a run?

Try to steal Cabrera

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 12:48 AM) LOL, man I hate you. One of the most frustrating umpire blunders of my life.
