  1. It's sad watching what's become of Urlacher out there. He looks so stiff, and just has no explosion anymore. The play of the game, as of now, was him getting burned by a rookie tight end for a 3rd down conversion.
  2. Griese can't even lead this team to a first down. Let the Rex or Orton show start.
  3. Tim Tebow with just a ridiculous game today. The Heisman really should be between him, Dixon, and Daniel.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 02:24 AM) I wouldnt mind taking a flier on Ray Durham, since SF wants to get rid of his bad contract, maybe they would want to take one of ours? Ray Ray can still put up a .350 OBP and can help out with the dev of Richar. Just a thought. Say no to Durham. I like him a lot, but his bat speed is really bad now.
  5. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 01:57 AM) Still just an exhibition, but IU leads Pembroke 52-35 at the half. It's bombs away for Eric Gordon with 24. If this team can actually play some defense, this team might be dangerous. Jamarcus Ellis is really disappointing tonight. He's very lazy with his passing, and his defense is bad. Already looks like Crawford is going to be taking his place in the lineup.
  6. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 04:45 AM) The first was in a topic created by a mod. The mod asked everyone to turn on their inboxes, didn't give a reason. They do that every once in awhile so it didnt seem like a big deal. But then some one posted "Big, no HUGE news is coming soon guys". When I clicked in, the topic was locked. Then when I clicked out, the topic was gone. Then a thread popped up "Big news coming soon". Didn't make it in there, already deleted. Next minute there is a "Big news coming soon?" thread asking about what was up with the last two posts. Again deleted almost immediatly It probably has to do with recruiting, and the likely commitment then of A. Johnson.
  7. There's nothing on the 3 main Illini fan sites. Any idea about the topic of those posts? I could make some predictions on what it might be, but that would be simple speculation.
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 03:46 AM) Anyone know what this "big news" is coming out for Illinois basketball? What's this about? Where are you seeing rumors?
  9. I would have liked that trade a lot. It would seem like KW is going to go around and try to find another reliever then, with Sweeney as the trade chip. As I've told quite a few people on this site, the Sox are absolutely disappointed in Sweeney's development, and wants to trade him now before he has no value.
  10. I wonder if that would open up the possibility of a Crede trade to the Cards then for someone like everyone's favorite, Anthony Reyes.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 06:03 PM) Yay, Iowa State begins tonight with Winston-Salem State. Unfortunately, our best player sprained his ankle. But we did crack 10,000 season tickets. So yeah. I'm just ready for real basketball. Is Johnson out this weekend?
  12. There's enough members of the media that despise Clemens that there's no way they could cover his name up. You don't think that whoever provided this information wouldn't tell someone in the media if all the names they mentioned besides Clemens are reported?
  13. fathom replied to DBAHO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Steve Stone alluded to the fact today that the Sox organization is down on Danks right now, and they're actually more likely to trade him than they are Gio.
  14. I'm a big fan of Michelle Bonner.
  15. QUOTE(Chombi and the Fungi @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:38 AM) Ok, our offense was bad for reasons other than power. Unless you mean the lack of power our 3-4-5 showed. Is Fields bat ready? yes... Is he ready? Yes...If the Sox keep Crede should they maybe give Fields a month in AAA to learn LF a little, why not??? I wouldnt say we need his bat. It would help, but we have enough power. What we need is some speed and contact in the lineup. He doesn't have anything to prove but he does have things he can improve on if the Sox chose to send him down. IE his defense, his knowledge of the strike zone, etc. Again, I am just merely trying to make out what KW would be thinking in this move. It doesn't necessarily reflect my opinion on it but I am getting the feeling some of you take it that way. Actually, he's our best bat against LHP, something this team really needs. If KW sends Fields to the minors to start the year, there's something very bad going on behind the scenes with our organization.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:36 AM) Yup. So its either Joe or Josh at 3rd. Can we start a countdown until KW's first comment about how no one wants to buy, but everyone is a seller?
  17. So, I didn't realize that KW said in the article that Fields absolutely won't be playing in the outfield next year. That doesn't make me very happy. We better be looking to trade Crede.
  18. QUOTE(Chombi and the Fungi @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:27 AM) Yea I understand it is rediculous...My point is lots of teams have their top prospects up, and then start them in AAA the next year. Usually those decisions are made in advance. In Fields case, it may have been. They do the "No matter how well you do, you're going back down for the remainder of the season, or next season, etc." I don't agree with the idea in this case but it is what it is. Obviously Fields had more time to showcase himself w/Crede hurt, but if Joe comes back, what's the harm in giving Fields a month to get going in AAA. Don't get me wrong either...If he is here, I would like him playing. I am just looking at it from an organizational point of view and what KW would possibly be thinking to do it. Sending Fields to AAA to start the year would be just about the dumbest decision the organization could make. Fields didn't exactly respond well the first month of AAA this year, as many observers said he was pouting constantly.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:17 AM) Say what you will about the Bulls, but the only team in the NBA younger than them is the Hawks, and it's not by much. So yes, they are still very young, but with all the experience they have, youth is no excuse. Assuming that Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, and Wallace are your starters next year, wouldn't that be 4 guys who would be under contract for at least 10 million a year? The young guys with cheap contracts are no more. It would be really nice if Tyrus can step up and be a dependable starter.
  20. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:15 AM) I'm betting on Texas. And praying. If it's not Hunter, then it's Rowand...or Cameron...or Andruw Jones....or trading for Juan Pierre. Might as well hope that whoever we overpay for, they perform well.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 05:21 AM) Ridiculous. Obviously, I'm not calling for it to happen right now or during the season. However, I honestly believe Paxson will really come under fire if this team underachieves this year. It's disappointing how this team went from a team with an unlimited ceiling just a few years ago to a team that seems to have lost their fire and isn't exactly young anymore. It seems like every year, the same problems exist with this team: no true point guard and no low post offensive player.
  22. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 01:32 AM) My God I hate watching the Hawks play. I force myself to when I watch Marvin play, but it's disgusting. It's like watching an un-organized AAU team, which is really saying something. Is there a worse teammate than Josh Smith in the NBA? He's 5/12 tonight which is actually a good shooting day for him, and he still thinks he's Jordan. I would like to see an IQ test taken by him and a sack of bricks, would be a good contest. If they can trade away Smith, and AC Law proves to be an NBA PG they might really have something. Al Horford was a good pick, partially making up for Shelden Williams. Any team that employs Mario West is fine by me.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 06:06 AM) Probably true but it's not the crap I want to hear. This organization has a history of horribly mishandling young players, it better not happen to Josh. Oh trust me, there's a lot of reason to fear going on rotoworld to see what moves were made by the Sox on a particular day. I still am of the belief that the Sox should go into total rebuilding mode, but it will never happen with our GM/Manager. I'm also about 90 pct sure that the Sox will sign Hunter by this time next week.
  24. Josh Fields will be starting for the Sox next year somewhere....don't overreact to what KW said. I heard the interview on the radio tonight, and it was totally bulls***.
