Either that or it's been an awful long time since Cabrera had a day off, and if Uribe is on the shopping block, then we may as well rest the OC for a day or two while we still have a solid defensive SS behind him.

I think they have moved Alexie to short late in the gam a few times. you'd think he'd be given time. But they left him at 2B and have Uribe at SS.

July 4, 200817 yr Whatever the reason is, I hope this was his last start with the White Sox. Edited July 4, 200817 yr by fathom
July 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (R.J. @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Also important to note that OC is 0-for-8 lifetime vs. Duchsherer. Uribe is 0-for-8 versus a lot of starters.
July 4, 200817 yr I can't imagine any team giving up anything for Uribe unless they are totally clueless.
July 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 09:31 PM) I can't imagine any team giving up anything for Uribe unless they are totally clueless. I'm not sure you fully understand how desperate the Dodgers are for anything resembling a major league shortstop. Hu has been terrible and they've resorted to Angel Berroa and Luis Maza, so yes, Juan Uribe would be an upgrade in LA. They tried to trade Loaiza for him already, so there's atleast a bit of interest from them.

July 4, 200817 yr QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 04:54 AM) well, the fact that the Dodgers only offered Loaiza for Uribe should be an indication of how much they thought of Uribe. Or how much they thought we thought of Loaiza. I think yours is closer, but do not estimate the chances of finding a GM who is over valuing someone in your system.
July 4, 200817 yr Situations change. After the Dodgers tried to get Uribe for Loiaza, they tried Angel Berrora at short. Not so good. Thursday Jeff Kent left the game early, don't know why, but that could thin them out some more. So you never know, Juan could still wind up in tinseltown.
