  1. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) Because Floyd has zero percent chance to succeed at this point. Congrats on the worst statement made during this entire thread.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) There is no way this Yankee team should be described as "Great". They may be a decent team loaded with a bunch of high priced talent, but they're not a great team in my book.l They've dealt with so many injuries to their pitching staff this year, and it looks like they're finally going to be all back in a few weeks. Their offense is sensational, and it's only getting better with Matsui and Cano picking it up.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Excuses...Point is we have lost badly to a bad Yankee team. With SP that KW banked on for the next couple of years.. Danks gets a sorta pass.. but Jose LMAO.. we are stuck with the pile of crap for 2 years.. amazing. This is a great Yankees team that is finally starting to gel.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 03:57 AM) When I go back up to Marquette, I don't think I'll want to leave my dorm -- annoying Cubs fans plus, if Milwaukee makes a run, the Brewer fans who I still find annoying becaause they're the same people who root for the Packers. I'm going to bury my head in the sand and try to focus on the other sports (English Premier Football, Blackhawks, Bears and MU B-ball). These next two months are going to be the 'sux0rz', that's for sure. Well, I'm just praying that guys like Peavy, Young, Penny, Lowe, Saito, Smoltz and Hudson stay healthy so the Cubs could face some good competition in the playoffs.
  5. Remember this.....Timo Perez was one of the best hitters in AAA IL this season.
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 03:55 AM) Wow, not to sound too much like Fathom, but what a break for the Cubs, once again. It's hell, simply hell. The Brewers really are like the Royals from a few years ago.
  7. I'd take Pat Burrell in a second for Contreras. He'd be the 3rd best hitter on the Sox.
  8. Wow, just wow. I hate this f***ing baseball season so much....it gets worse every day.
  9. Unreal.....teams are literally handing the Cubs wins now. I'm so f***ing thrilled that I'll be away from the television/internet for 10 days.
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) Romero's not getting anything. Hey alright, the ump gave him strike one to DeRosa. f*** me, Dempster is making everybody look silly with that slider. He's making Rowand look like 2005 Aaron. That Ruiz guy has left a village on the bases tonight.
  11. Ryan Howard looks just horrible on those low pitches. Why would any team ever throw him a fastball?
  12. Holy cow, the umpire in the 8th inning of the Cubs game is squeezing the crap out of Romero. Of course, it all started because Ryan Howard made another defensive blunder by throwing the ball high to 2nd when Soriano was picked off.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) You really believe all of them deserve to be canned? No, sorry, should have worded that better. However, I honestly think one HAS to be fired, and think that there needs to be more personnel shuffle than just that. I'm beginning to wonder how KW is going to survive another season.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) 7 hits allowed by Yankee pitching today, all 7 came from left handed hitters. It's a shame Ozzie "makes the f***ing lineup" today could have been a good day for Richar to face his first major league lefty starter. What really irks me is that KW, Ozzie, Walker, and Cooper likely won't lose their jobs this offseason.
  15. Embarassing games for the Sox...it's disgusting to see how much the talent level on the big league team sucks.
  16. It's a smart move. I echo KW's sentiments from yesterday that things didn't go well for this club.
  17. QUOTE(JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Aug 2, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) whats danks' ERA now? Over 5
  18. This is men against boys out there. We might want to watch how many innings Danks throws the rest of the way.
  19. How many hits can Danks allow with 2 strikes tonight?
  20. Couple of comments: - It was dumb to move Fields up to the #2 spot just when he was getting comfortable at the plate. There's nothing about his game that leads you to believe he'd be good in that 2 spot, and he hasn't looked good at the plate in the few games since. - .19 ERA is all that is keeping me from saying KW had a horrible offseason.
  21. Awesome....we get to see the Richar/Gonzalez platoon go into effect tonight.
  22. Floyd's stuff sucks. The only pitch which is close to being above average is his curve. His fastball is average with little movement. I put this in the game thread last night, but he almost throws a hanging fastball. He has no chance to get lefties out right now with the tilt of his pitches.
  23. QUOTE(frankie5angels @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 03:43 AM) We must really suck then because we went 4-14 against the NL this year. We do, especially during that stretch.
  24. BTW, I'm sorry if anyone's offended I put the Brewers/Cubs stuff in this thread.
