White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) If the ownership won't get rid of the batting coach during times like this, why would they get rid of the only guy showing frustration and giving a damn? This is the best post of the last month. -

Another miserable throw by an outfielder. -

FWIW, this is terrible managing by Garner. -

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) The entire minor league system seems to be nothing but career AAA guys. It's been that way for the last 5 years. -

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:10 PM) Well, before I left we were down 1-0. We're still down 1-0 but in about 3 minutes it will be 4-0 and we will have lost our, what, 5th straight game? Wow, f*** this team. There isn't a single player I would care about if they were traded, cut, retired, etc/etc (except Brian Anderson). I'd rather be a Royals fan. f***, we're almost behind them in the standings. Do yourself and us a favor and just take a break from this board/team. -

Hey Santo....would you disagree with me if I said this Sox team would finish in a dogfight for 3rd in the NL Central this year with the Cards and Astros? QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) What, did Garlands pitch count get too high? Isn't it time for Ozzie to say "f' the pitch count" or whatever the heck makes him take out the starters (if it isn't giving up runs)? Garland threw a lot of pitches last game, so I'm happy they pulled him after 7. It wasn't exactly a stress free game for Garland. I'd rather not blow his arm out for such a pathetic team. -

Lance Berkman has zero extra base hits against lefty pitchers this year. That's 11 extra base hits against righties now. -

Hey Kenny....you really f***ed up this offseason. Oh Ozzie....you really suck also! Thankfully, you'll always have your supporters though. -

Unreal....I just love these AAA pitchers. If you're going to lose, at least let it be Thornton who's responsible, especially since Berkman is so much better as a lefty than a righty. Ozzie just never ceases to impress me. -

We need the rally jphat! BTW, if we lose today, I'm taking responsibility for the game thread tomorrow. It's time for Mr. Optimism. -

At least Tito will be happy. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Schuerholz shook him. Even Dave Littlefield one upped him by dumping most of Kendall's contract on him. I love the stat about who the Pirates highest paid player is this year. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) Last years Flubs. The Mariners have been high in payroll the past couple of years. The Mets a few years ago Christ, that was off the top of my head. So does Greg Walker think there are no ways to improve Uribe's swing? What a joke. I was thinking more of the Orioles a few years ago. And yes, Walker should be fired and Uribe needs a total makeover at the plate. Either that, or get him back on the juice. -

You know, it's really a good thing that KW didn't upgrade in LF or at SS this year. But thankfully, we're loaded with AAA pitchers for a while! QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) I'd say he has been a tad above average this year, especially considering how bad he was the first two weeks. Considering how bad he started, he must be doing something right to have his ERA in the low 2's. -

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) since pujols' blast in 05, he hasnt been the same. so we might have a chance to...ah never mind, we are the 2007 worst AL team with the worst BA in the league something interesting, i just saw cy youngs stats on baseball-reference.com, and he pitched 7354.7 innings in his career. holy cow Lidge has been sensational for quite a while now. -

Great game for Garland. This team has no chance to hit Lidge in the 8th, so it would be in our best interest to hit that solo homer this inning. -

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) I post this rhetorical question in game thread when it gets this way. When is the offense going to be embarassing to KW? The bullpen was embarassing for a couple of weeks, but apparently has stopped. Now the offense has not done s*** all year. Paging KW, do you have a pulse? Do anything!!! KW failed miserably so far this year. This is one of the worst 100 million dollar payroll teams I've seen. Like I said earlier, terrible managing/base running/hitting/defense/fundamentals/relief pitching. -

It's great that we're losing 1-0 in a game we should have 2 runs if the players just hustled all the way to 3rd when they should have. At least these players are playing with energy. -

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) I root for five or six players right now: Vazquez, Danks, Jenks, Fields, Konerko and Masset when he starts. I'll still watch Thome bat, as the chase for 500 carries on. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) My cousin in St. Louis says the Cards maybe down on Reyes. Wonder if Buehrle would bring him in a deal. He's terrible! He's the most overrated player on soxtalk. -

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) There is nobody to trade this year that makes us better next year. We're not going to be good next year, so it doesn't matter. If we're trading for prospects, I really wish that KW wasn't in charge. -

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) On the bright side, Fields got a hit. It's almost to the point where seeing Fields play well is more important than how this team does. Fields will be with this team longer than just about anyone else in this organization. -
The pitch AJ was arguing about was right down the plate. It was just a stupid argument by AJ.

Second time in three games where bad base running prevents the sac fly.
