And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 04:00 AM) Gavin has a live arm. Why when we have pitchers who throw 93 and up, do we not throw inside. When you go away away away they are going to do what they did today. Extend and jack the ball. You dont have to plunk everyone, but for the love of god, run a 2 seamer on the inside corner and back them up a bit. I wouldn't consider 91 mph fastballs a "live arm". Of course, Garza comes back from their minors and is throwing harder than he did last year.

White Sox vs. Twins, Game 2 of DH, 7/06/07 (L)
Who in the world said that Floyd throws 95 mph? His fastball was at 91 mph all night. Between him and Masset, can we just never attend a Winter League game again?

Buehrle Cleans out his locker today
I would bet that very soon, Buehrle says the 4/56 is off the table, and he'll test free agency. And maybe it's me, but after reading that article twice, it seems like he wasn't kidding. He probably expects to be traded during the ASB.

MacDougal on DL
I'm stunned that Thome, Pods, Erstad, and MacDougal were placed on the DL this year.

And That's A White Sox Loser
Being there all day today was quite the spectacle. It's amazing how poor this is fundamentally, with horrible base running, pathetic defense, and just idotic things like Gavin Floyd pitching from the stretch with no one on base and Jerry Owens not stealing 2nd base when he's not being held on. And as for Ozzie...all I know is that 36 runs later, I can't believe we didn't throw a purpose pitch.

White Sox Notes: Buehrle Sick of Rumors
Things are going to get so ugly at the park if Buehrle is traded. Being there all day today, the fans have so much hatred for this organization right now.

Buehrle Fest
QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:51 AM) it is quite possibe that burls will demand a no-trade from whatever team he signs with in the off-season, if the sox do not lock him up. he seems the type to want to have his family settled and not be moving around... so no amount of maneuvering on the sox side will help. i just cant see KW giving in on this, unfortunately. Yep, and the more time passes, the more the Sox fans will have a hard time accepting it if he's traded after being willing to give up so much money to remain with the team. KW should have kept these negotiations quiet....as it's his job that's likely going to be at stake in the long run.

Chicagosports article saying that Boston is involved in the Buehrle talks again.

Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal
Until Theo has more World Series rings than KW, it's really hard to make one out to be so much better than the other. If KW had an unlimited payroll, he'd be a pretty damn good GM then. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 11:52 PM) So there you have it. The supposed white sox fan, in all his glory. I give him credit....he doesn't even pretend to like the White Sox anymore.

Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal
Wily Mo is the type of stupid, bad fundamental, terrible defensive player we need to get away from. If he was the main person we receive in return for Buehrle, then KW might as well quit.

Official Love for the Milwaukee Brewers Thread
And Bill Hall leaves today's game with a leg injury. The Brewers are fading heading into the ASB.

Gavin Floyd Recalled
I just hope he throws strikes tomorrow. I'll be at the game, and don't want to see him nibble the whole time.

Gavin Floyd Recalled
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 06:32 PM) Ozzie said he doesn't want to call someone up for a start and then send them right back down. He doesn't think it would be fair to Floyd. Maybe today or tomorrow is the day the trigger is going to be pulled on some other moves. Yep, Masset was available to start tomorrow, but they're going with Floyd instead. I'd say there's about a 75 pct chance now that one of our starting pitchers is traded in the next 5 days.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:22 AM) Monday? I believe the 'turning point' -- or the moment the majority of Soxtalk knew 2007 wasn't our year -- was the final game of the Cubs series. Our pitiful stretch of games against the supposedly weak National League concluded with a sweep. And while it was over far before that in my mind, that was the turning point for many more on the fence. You should know me better than to think I was being serious. I can't believe the amount of optimism people had because we won two series against Tampa and KC.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:15 AM) Let it happen, already. The turning point of this season was blowing that game on Monday.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
One of the favorite moments in my life involved Bako, and it was ending Game 7 of the NLCS in 2003.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:07 AM) It's not enought that Dye's value has sunk offensively, why not leave him out and expose his defensive woes as well? I gave up all hope of our manager doing the right thing in showcasing potential guys to trade after last Friday's game in KC.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
Good to see Dye still in the game down 6 and having just batted.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:45 AM) Is it just me, or does this game feel like the longest of the season? It looks like these guys would rather be anywhere else but here. It's fine, after hearing just glowing reports about Pedro Alvarez at the Team USA game today, I have no problem with the Sox losing.

QUOTE(logic101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:41 AM) Logan. Thornton. Neither is someone you'd rebuild a team around. Either (or both) would bring great value in return. Actually, those are the two guys in the pen we should keep.

Rickie Weeks has been pathetic since he returned from the DL.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
I feel bad for Aardsma...it's got to be difficult pitching in the majors with a 93 mph straight fastball and a terrible offspeed pitch. He's a terrible pitcher, and has no business pitching in the majors.

White Sox vs. Orioles, 7/04/07 (L)
DJ was trying to tell us how good Iguchi is with 2 outs this year. On the season, he's now hitting .150 with RISP and 2 outs.

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:54 AM) Does anyone thinkthat JC would at least have a little more success in the NL. I am praying some team takes a chance on him and trades for him. I want to get rid of this contract!! There's no way you get another team to take on his whole contract right now, and there's no way you'll get anything useful in return. We might have to take on a bad contract if we really feel like he's never going to help us again.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) Contreras for some used batting practice balls and a warm bucket of spit. DO IT KW! Yep, just please get rid of that 20 million.
