Good Vibes Thread
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Would it really be that horrible to trade Contreras and insert Masset into the rotation? If we put Gio or Floyd into the rotation, it would be a lot more interesting than seeing Contreras throw 87 mph with no command and 1/10th the forkball he used to have. Could it be that Contreras has the first big money contract that KW messed up on?

Thome diffuses restaurant misbehavior
Like I said in the other thread, it's obvious who was causing trouble. McCarthy and Anderson

6/12 Games
QUOTE(OilCan @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) It's very encouraging to see Ryan Sweeney near .300 in AAA. Does anyone see him turning up his HR swing, or will he be a Mark Grace/Jeff Abbott type player? Lofty expectations by saying he'll be a Grace-like player.

Hawk & DJ's Demeanor On-Air
QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:32 AM) i'm back like mj. that's sounds really hard to do. what if you miss the game where the white sox offense finally breaks out for 10+ runs? So your gambling suspension was lifted?

Justin Verlander
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:08 AM) And will be for the forseeable future. I'll say right now, if losing enough games to select #2 overall allows us to draft a pitcher of Justin Verlander's calibur I'd support it. The season is over. It doesn't matter whether we finish with 70 or 81 wins. That's what is so infuriating about them getting Porcello also.

Turning point of the season
I lost my beloved appendix on July 1st of last year. That was the day of the AJ walkoff homer....it was basically the day after that when our struggles started, especially on the mound. So....unless someone can find a way to get my appendix back, I'm out of answers.

It took Mr. Devito to bring together everyone on this board. I have to thank you DD....you have a career as a group psychiatrist.

Hawk & DJ's Demeanor On-Air
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) I find it weird that Thome hasn't PH'd once these last two games. I find it pathetic. Ozzie went out of his way to make sure Sisco and MacDougal pitched at KC.

Uribe walks 1 every 12 ABs....Cintron has walked once every 24. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:13 AM) You've been hear for 4 days. fathom, while overly pessimistic, is 5x the poster you are. Even that is an understatement. That must have pained you to have to do that.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:11 AM) has anyone ever seen fathom post something constructive? i haven't. continue to hate on byrnes and hunter. both players are 10x better than any hitter on chicago's squad right now. I did start a thread about a week ago with some projections of what the roster might look like. Of course, a lot has changed since then with Crede's injury and rumors of team wanting Dye.

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) you're one of those loud mouthed, no idea, love to complain people as well. who do we put a SS, valido? i'm sure you don't have any worthwhile ideas, so don't bother posting more nonsense just to up your post count. Thanks for the entertainment tonight. It's the best performance by a Devito since Renaissance Man.

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) you better believe Uribe would but cut loose as well. no first pitch hackers on this squad. atleast no Uribe. that's all i care about. that slacker has to go. he is a colorado rockies throw away player. you know he is subpar just by that alone. Yet you want a Tampa "throw away" and two Arizona "throw aways" starting? QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:07 AM) I think the team needs more aging ex-twins whose legs are about to fall off. Maybe sign Tony Batista to play SS. I really fear we'll sign Castillo.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:01 AM) That's right -- the Sox looked at Poreda & saw a guy that can't strikeout college hitters even with his 96MPH heat (that's 96MPH in "White Sox MPH" which translates to 92MPH in the real world) and immediately project him as a left-handed Brandon Webb that pitches to contact and never allows a fly ball. Great scouting. I think it's amazing how KW said he'd be in charge of the draft, yet he never saw Poreda pitch live. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:01 AM) OF: Byrnes, Hunter, Terrero IF: Fields-Cintron-Castillo-Konerko-Hall i'd cut Pierzynski and have hall as my everyday C. maybe bring in a free agent C or let gustavo back up. line up: Castillo Hunter Thome Konerko Terrero Byrnes Fields Hall Cintron Rotation: Garland Vazquez Contreras Danks Gio We might break the Bulls regular season win record with that team. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:01 AM) I dont follow our prospects at all. I know nothing about our future. Is Porcello a stud? Probably not a good night to say who everyone compares him to.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:58 AM) Exactly because we have a bad record due to our pitching. If only they could hold the opposition to negative runs everynight we would have a chance. If there was ever a pitcher who could lose while allowing negative runs, it's Javy Vazquez!

Mark Buehrle and the Cardinals
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:58 AM) I'll take Duncan in a package. The guy mashes RHP. Be hard for the Cards to give him up with the daddy connection. I think he's a 25-30 homer guy though.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:56 AM) we must find the next young pitching phenom(s). Isn't that what we did by drafting Poreda instead of Porcello?

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:50 AM) thanks for your wonderful contribution to the board! i get a kick out of the hard heads in this thread that just b*tch and moan. well let's hear your ideas. oh, that's right. you guys don't have any. I have a feeling you're going to get sent down to the minors.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) Good, maybe KW can assemble a roster of players who are not overpaid and actually care about each and every at bat. Don't count on it....if KW can make the Sox a .500 team next year, my faith in him will be restored.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:33 AM) The Sox have a grand total of 3 starting position players under contract for next season and a clusterf*** of questionable talent to fill a few of those holes. This team is in shambles. Oh yeah....it's not out of the question to think this team might be competing with the Rangers next year for the worst team in the AL. At least we'll get to see Vazquez and Contreras throwing 85 mph.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:33 AM) A little bit of a stretch, but Dye getting hot during this next month could change the franchise.... Would you agree then that today is the perfect type of game for us to lose then (if we're going to lose, that is).

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) Well I hate to say this but we must look to rebuild the arms on this team. KW needs to make moves to bolster the pitching staff. Is there anybody on this team to get excited about? Not really... There should be an absolute fire sale soon. We need offensive players right now. We have more holes on the offensive side forecasted over the next year than we do pitching.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
That's what we get for letting Brian Anderson and Brandon McCarthy join the team in Philly.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 01:22 AM) Kinda weird, but the last few weeks, I have really been enjoying "Baseball" rather than the just the Sox. It's a different feeling, but kinda nice just to watch baseball, not care about the standings, and just enjoy it for what its for. I really enjoyed watching Verlander celebrate. Now I don't want to have that feeling for very long(start f***ing winning Sox) but it's kinda nice. In some ways, I'm with you. I've been watching the west coast games with my fiancee lately, and they've been great. The A's games last week were incredible. I know I'm a pathetic asshole for saying this, but with my belief the Sox won't make the playoffs this year, I'm following the Cubs/Brewers games a lot more rooting against the Cubs making the playoffs.

Verlander was throwing some sick s*** up there.
