White Sox vs. Cubs, 5/18/07 (L)
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Giving Dempster a couple of runs to work with is inexcusable. But there are those that really think Ozzie Guillen is 100% the reason the Sox won the WS in 2005. And those are the dumbasses who also think KW got equal value in the Garcia trade.

Motherf***ingdips***dumbass Ozzie
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) Ozzie proving again why he is the single worst manager in baseball. God I hope he doesn't last much longer. I'm sure he'll react well to the media stuff after his outburst earlier today.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) What a joke. Atleast MacDougals ERA is at 6.00. Maybe Ozzie will sit him,. Some bullpen we have....is that three guys with an ERA above 6?

QUOTE(premo @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) This got real ugly real fast. MacDougal is a joke, and now that I think about it, so is most of this team We can't hit lefty pitching...it's really f***ing sad.

I wasn't watching the game, but why in the hell wasn't AJP brought in for defensive purposes after the top of the 7th? With a 2 run lead and Hall just batting the inning before, that would have been the smart baseball decision to make. Of course, with the idiot we have managing, that would be too much thinking.

White Sox vs. Cubs, 5/18/07 (L)
How about we just don't trade for anymore players from KC. There's a reason they have a history of losing over the last decade. The thing is, MacDougal is brutal against lefties. He should have been brought in to face Theriot if he was going to come in at all.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Somehow tons of people do. This guy makes bad decisions every f***ing game and people kiss his ass. At least he keeps the clubhouse chemistry good.

Can we just fire KW and Ozzie? Great job by KW of upgrading the bullpen this offseason like he stated he would.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) Crede out today, Terrero in. (Joe took a ball to the face during BP apparently) This has been a pretty annoying day in regards to Sox stuff already.

Ozzie
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) It's a pretty short interview, and it's on 670's website. Basically just that he's "disappointed", "surprised", "frustrated", doesn't need a rest ("How come noone asked me?")...but "I don't make the lineup". Funniest thing is how much North thinks of himself. "Who do you think you're talking to?" Lof'nl. I'll stick up for Ozzie on this....AJP needs to STFU then. Maybe if he hit lefties better, he wouldn't have to worry about it. AJP, more than anyone, should have seen just how bad Molina is, and how much of an upgrade Hall is.

Ozzie
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) Diverting attention away from everyone pounding on the offense and Greg Walker? Seems like a peculiar time to pick an argument though, as everyone in the media the last two days were saying that the Sox are playing good, and the Cubs are a disaster. I have no problem that Ozzie did this....we all know he's immature and unprofessional in how he handles things in the media. Besides for sticking up for his decision to play Hall though, I don't think there were a lot of other reasons going on for him to do this.

Thome
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Sweeney is better than Jeremy Reed (it's close) but there's no way he is better than Erstad in CF, not at this point in his career. As of right now, Erstad and Reed are better defensively than Sweeney. However, Sweeney has a lot more potential defensively thanks to have a strong throwing arm.

Ozzie
If you're going to play a catcher who can't throw, there's probably no better guy to have on the mound than Buehrle. He either picks guys off or they get a HUGE jump against him. I'm not one to defend Ozzie, but if this was legit, then I have no problem with him going off on Mike North.

Thome
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) This is the second day in a row they have done that, and there is nothing out on the wires about an injury. Everything in print today is talking about his return Monday. Besides I thought you were the guy with the connections, you tell us It happened on the road, so it's a lot harder for me to find out information about this (especially because it doesn't deal with a minor league prospect).
-
Blind optimism with a slight bit of logic.
It's hard to be optimistic until we see Thome again with the big league club. I guess no news is good news about him leaving for a pinch hitter tonight.
-
Would anyone start Contreras over Danks Sunday?
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 18, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) You're kidding right ? Erstad has been crucified and continues to be crucified despite obviously being the better choice over Anderson. Every mistake he makes is put under a microscope. Anything to cling to the hate. He's play good all around baseball. Defense ,running, offense, leadership . What more do people want ? . I'm aware of the OBP and OPS. Expecting a high OPS out of Erstad is like expecting Dye to bunt with men on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs. It's just not his game. From my end, it's the total opposite. Every little thing Erstad does well, it gets magnified as if it was the greatest play in history.

Thome
Thome left the game for a pinch hitter tonight. Anyone have an update on why? If he's injured again, KW needs to go out and acquire a new DH.
-
Charlotte game TH 5/17
I hope Thome is fine. It's not good that he had to leave the game for a pinch hitter. Sad to say I'm expecting the worst.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 5/17/07 (W)
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Since I'm still not able to watch the games, I have to go by gameday. Is Sweeney's luster wearing off already? He doesn't hit enough line drives right now. He's a ground ball machine right now. He's really not ready to contribute at the major league level....it's just that there are no other options.

So thrilled that we continue to put Ozuna into the 2nd spot against righties. At least he doesn't strike out too much....right Ozzie?

Let's see if the starting pitcher allows a run after we score...again!

Talk about a Sunday line-up
I noticed that lineup....what a joke.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 5/17/07 (W)
No Crede today....good thing we have our best defensive infield going today with a sinker baller on the mound. Also, why can't Ozzie just leave Uribe in the #2 hole? Iguchi's batting 9th today.
