This umpire has a pretty small zone. If Garcia is forced to throw it over the plate....he's in trouble. Goodness....this is comical. I want to hit against Freddy. -

Good grief do I hate Freddy Garcia. If his stuff doesn't improve tonight, he's not making it out of the 4th inning. -

Morneau shouldn't see a single good pitch to hit this inning. -

1st and 3rd for an extremely hot hitter. Garcia has absolutely no bite on his pitches right now. -

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) When did Michael Cuddyer become Tom Brunansky? You could see him becoming dangerous for a few years now. The ball has always jumped off of his bat. It's too bad the Twins didn't give up on him becoming a full-time player. -

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) why in the world does Morneau bat 5th? lefty-lefty stuff? It's working out quite well for them. Garcia's dialing up that fastball at 87 mph now. You can cancel the postgame. -

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) now playing left field for your 2007 white Sox Josh Fields. As long as it's not Mr. No Tools QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Twinkies crowed is amped, Bonser is throwing good, Twins are pumped. Gotta step up Freddy. If Garcia goes out there with his mediocre stuff, we might get ourselves in a massive hole. -

It will be interesting to see the intensity level of both teams tonight. Hunter said that the Twins are treating this like a playoff series, and he's worried they'll be too amped up. On the other hand, Buehrle is downplaying the importance of this series. It would sure be nice to win the first game of this series. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Heh. From watching the playoffs last year, it seems to me that lots of homers and good pitching wins in the playoffs. (I'll also add 'good defense' to that, too.) Timely hitting and timely pitching win playoff games.

Hopefully Freddy doesn't intentionally try to throw that high offspeed pitch tonight. No matter what anyone says, it's a bad pitch. This Twins lineup has a lot of speed in it, and you know they'll be running wild on Garcia. We need the offense to step it up this weekend. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) I just have a bad feeling we are all going to want to pull our hair out after this weekend. Prove me wrong Sox.... I have a feeling that if we don't win at least one of the first two games of this series, this place will be in full meltdown mode. -

Here's my pessimistic prediction for the wknd....one of our outfielders will lose a ball in the ceiling of the dome. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) I don't understand all the clamouring for "smallball". The offense is the best in the league. The pitching has been horrible. The team ERA is almost the same as Cleveland's. Put last year's offense with this year's pitching and you would have a team that would be very lucky to be .500. You can't play small ball when you need to score 7 or 8 runs a night in order to win a game, although I would like to see some more stolen base attempts. I'd like to see more hit-and-runs. Simply put, we're a terrible team at getting jumps and stealing bases. Not only are our guys being thrown out at an alarming rate, but they're not even close to being safe. Smallball was magnified last year due to our offense being medicore for a large portion of the season. This year, we have a team that can outslug the opposition, and I hate giving up outs prior to our monster 3-4-5-Crede coming up to the plate. With our pitchers performing like they have this year, playing for one run prior to the 6th inning is a mistake. -
A win's a win. I wasn't able to watch it, but I felt a sense of relief when DeJesus went to 2nd on his hit. I would much rather face Sweeney than Grudz in that situation.

Thornton should have been in to face Thornton, and then Jenks gets the righties. Instead, Jenks has to come in and face a dead fastball hitter with the tying run on base. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) EMINEM IS OUT OF GAS OZZIE, TAKE HIM OUT. He's definitely not a 2 inning type pitcher, especially after throwing the night before. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Haha, nice try by JD...2 on - 1 out. C'mon Mike What happened? I still don't agree with using MacDougal last night. He's the type of guy who you need to keep fresh.
