  1. Another good AB for Erstad. We'd have a couple of runs tonight if not for our bench players in the lineup.
  2. Uribe pops up an absolutely terrible pitch. I have no confidence in Ozzie to handle this DH spot the right way.
  3. Cintron continues to be a rally killer. It's pretty pathetic we have no one else that can DH.
  4. Let's get Erstad is position to drive in some runs.
  5. This is going to be a damn good Angels team when their guys get healthy.
  6. Very impressed with Napoli's game calling. He's set up our hitters with a lot of offspeed stuff and then busted them in with 2 strikes on the inner half.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) Jered is not happy. He's not as big of an asshole as his brother, but he's close.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:45 AM) Well we're not going to be THAT bad all season. This offense is far from terrific but it's certainly not that bad. The problem with Thome being out is that our OBP will drop significantly.
  9. Another K for Konerko. I've never seen him whiff so much in his career.
  10. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:39 AM) Those batting averages Fathom listed are abysmal. Greg Walker and his hitters: D-minus right now. Greg Walker's job security diminished greatly once Thome got hurt.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:36 AM) Yikes. This is sick. Has Weaver been that good or is it more of the same from our offense? Weaver wasn't really sharp to start the game. Last inning he had better stuff. As long as a pitcher throws a change-up against the Sox, he'll have success.
  12. Look at the up-to-minute batting averages of our lineup: .244/.246/.212/.203/.236/.216/.220/.056/.246 That might be the worst I've ever seen this late in the season.
  13. The best thing we could do for our roster is call up Sweeney, send down Anderson, and sign Eduardo Perez.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:26 AM) 88mph straight fastballs usually allow hitters an opportunity to make contact above the strike zone.... Garland needs to me more perfect now, with almost Felix Diaz arsenal, then he has been in the past. When will someone in the press question why every Sox pitcher is down in velocity, some drastic?
  15. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) Weaver is pitching well so far. He's making them beat him a single at a time, and we're not a fast team on the basepaths. It's not an accident he went 9-0 to start his career last year. His stuff is nowhere near where it was last year. His fastball is down quite a few mph right now.
  16. Who are we facing in the Seattle series?
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:20 AM) That's ridiculous. I think he makes too much money for what his role is. I've been saying it all offseason....I thought he'd be a good candidate to leave in order to open up a roster spot.
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) That's precisely why Alex Cintron cannot be your DH. I've never seen someone look worse in every AB to start a season that he has. I don't think he's hit a single ball hard all season. Our bench has been absolutely horrific this season when you consider the nothing contributions from Anderson, Cintron, and Molina.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:17 AM) Christ. At least Razor didn't send him. Make it hurt, for once. Surprised Crede didn't go too far and get in a run down. Happens with him all the time. Haha.....Cintron needs to be DFA'd. He's overswinging so much.
  20. Nice swing by Crede! Be a nice time for Cintron to contribute this season.
  21. Pathetic AB by our #6 hitter. I never thought I'd see the day where Mackowiak was a 6 hitter in the AL.
  22. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:12 AM) Fathom, I think Wright is hittable tonight, do you? So far gooseeggs. You mean Weaver? Sure he's hittable, but we always struggle with guys who change speeds. Simply put, I don't expect much out of this lineup.
  23. Nice AB by Dye. He's showing better flexibility at the plate.
  24. SSI's favorite type of pitcher....throws outside fastballs and low change-ups.
  25. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:05 AM) Doomed is a good word, but maybe too strong. I will be flamed for this, but I wish we had both Carlos Lee and Rowand on the team right now. Oops ... did I really write that? I'm going to be burned at the steak (Sizzler, Bonanza, Chop House). I'll take the 2005 World Series memories/DVD over having Carlos Lee back.
