White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:52 AM) This Sorry Ass team can not beat the twins and has not been able to since pre-2000. Why is anybody surprised? Kw did a half ass job putting together a team that could compete in this division. Why are we shocked that we suck? We'll battle it out with the Twins this year....for 3rd place.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:51 AM) Aardsma f***ed up. Nerves looked like it got to him. I wonder if Aardsma can handle pressure?

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:49 AM) The bullpen was his project over the offseason. Pretty good results tonight don't ya think!! I thought his project was complaining about the rising cost of salaries?

You know, it's a good thing we have 3 lefty relievers in our bullpen. Wouldn't want to face a great lefty hitter with a lefty reliever, would ya?

QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) 24 pitches for Nathan on 3 outs, wow. At least they all worked the count a little. Does Iguchi's swing look slow as hell or is it just the MLB.tv? It's worse...at least he could try to do damage by swinging hard.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:46 AM) Wouldn't you agree this is about as bad as Nathan has looked against us in recent memory? Oh yeah....I actually liked Crede's AB. At least he tried to do some damage. I just don't know how we let Hunter beat us that inning. Worrying about putting the go-ahead run on base with 2 outs has always been something that's overrated. You go for the win, and get the next guy out.

KW.....you really should be proud of this amazing bench.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:45 AM) I doubt there will be a 10th. Morneau must have 200 walkoff homers in his career.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:44 AM) Nathan looks really as bad as he ever will and we can't do a f***ing thing. Our team just isn't good.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:43 AM) The only good thing about tonight is Torii Hunter is quickly pricing himself out of Minnesota's salary range when he hits the market. He is anyways....nice defense mechanism try though, I like it!

Pitchers must love facing our hitters....they can throw all the hangers they want, and no damage will come of it. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:42 AM) Dye really needs to take Iguchi with him and join Brian Anderson in AAA. I'm so thankful we didn't extend Dye, Iguchi, or Crede.

Iguchi looks like he's 50 years old right now. He needs to be hitting 8th in the order.

QUOTE(That funky motion @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:34 AM) Maybe, but it seems like once a game a ball gets over his head. His defence is not even close to what it should be. Dye sucks on defense....no one can argue he's even medicore anymore.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:34 AM) God damn our pitchers have been pitching better than most would think and they can't get any damn wins. Our bullpen is very overrated.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:34 AM) Lucky hit there, that was at his neck. It's called Hunter is on every fastball he sees.

Why do you pitch to their hottest hitter by far with a guy on deck who's coming off of an injury?
-
White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
f***! Should have never given him anything good to hit. Bad managing this inning, and thanks Iguchi again.
-
White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
They should pitch around Hunter.
-
White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
Nice pitch! Be very careful with that outside fastball to Hunter. He'll drill that over the right field fence.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) Does that really mean that much after surgeries, a new pitching coach, a new manager, and a new role? No, I was just responding to the other post. I had no problem with MacDougal in.

Ozzie walked right into a better situation for the Twins. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) I don't think Dye was playing that deep, because Bartlett has no power...well, except against us ... isn't Bartlett the punch-and-judy hitter that hit his only homer off Contreras last year in a late inning win for the Twins v. us? yes Don't give in here.

MacDougal's career ERA vs the Twins now is over 5.50.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:27 AM) Thanks again Gooch and MMac. I still am confused as to why Dye wasn't playing deeper. We desperately need a late inning defensive replacement for him....and Iguchi ( ).

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/8/07 (L)
Shouldn't Dye have been playing deeper to avoid the tying run getting a double?
