QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:16 AM) LOL. PFB is now denying that these hitters are going up to the plate with the "pull-and-lift" approach because "they're good hitters who get extra base hits" this is the first time I've listened to him all year, and it'll probably be the last. Everything about the Score's broadcast of White Sox baseball is disgraceful. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:20 AM) I'm starting to doubt my prediction on 84 wins. The Tigers are just flat out better than the Sox from the manager on down. Hopefully they keep Durbin in the rotation a little longer though.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 04:16 AM) Put it this way -- never have straight fastball down the middle in hitters counts looked so devastating. The team wide struggles have to make you believe that whatever Walker is instructing these hitters to do, it's easily being exploited by opposing pitchers. We're recoginizing their flaws as fastballs and offspeed pitches located on the outside corner. I'm afraid, judging from their offensive output (ranked amongs the worst in the league) other teams have caught on. It could be a LOOONNNGG year ahead of us. What's overlooked in this loss is how Garland failed to exceed 89 mph on his fastball (WCIU didn't even have a radar gun), and Pierzynski's plate calling was horrendous. Is every pitcher's velocity down from where it was 2 years ago? Thornton doesn't seem close to the 97 mph mark he was at last year. MacDougal's slider has been great this year, but his fastball has been in the 91 mph range. It's just weird that other teams seem so much fresher offensively and on the mound.
-
Garland says he mentally gave up. What in the hell is wrong with this team? As someone pointed out earlier, we've won 39 of our last 89 games. If we're not careful, the Tigers are going to get a huge lead on us.

I thought I heard this from his former roommates on CNN, but they said he was gay or was deeply disturbed by same sex desires (not that this means anything).

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:41 AM) Well I cant wait to hear the excuses from Guillen. it was cold, it was a bad night. The ball was only warm for the Rangers. the hitters are close. whatever The scary thing is that your boyfriend will never get fired during the season.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:37 AM) Which is why I have pretty much stopped caring about the whole Anderson/Ozzie saga. This team has MUCH bigger problems right now. Kind of symbollic of the issues we have though. The Erstad debacle hurts this team, as well as Ozzie needing to have his "speedster" at the top of the order. There was no excuse for us to bring Pods back this year. He's an oft-injured player who can't play well when coming back from injury.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:39 AM) They lost Sandy Alomars cell phone number? I'd take him over Molina.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:37 AM) You know what's sad? Those two are better than two-thirds of our healthy, starting OF. Lofton especially... would've been a perfect choice for LF this year. Lofton will never play for the Sox again. He's told close friends he hated playing for the Sox, as he's a Cubs fan and felt like a traitor.
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:37 AM) Well, atleast we know Molina is incapable of judging a strikezone or catching up to a 90 mph fastball. HE HIT .220 IN AA!!!!!!! How in the world does someone make a ML roster with that history.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:36 AM) My point still stands. Nobody cares about everyone's fantasy team. One of the reasons I don't play is because I don't want guys playing against the Sox on my team. That's funny, because that's my justification as well. I don't need something else to be entertained....I have the Sox on 162 times a year.
-
Any chance Anderson gets a plate appearance? And yes, Gustavo Molina is one of the worst players to ever make the Sox MLB roster.
-
QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:35 AM) ok, honest question. who sucks more, this team or Grossman? This team....at least Grossman performed well in the cold vs the Saints.
-
This team needs as much help as it can get on offense. Calling up Logan makes no sense. As Sunday's game showed, another offensive threat could give Ozzie more flexibility at the end, especially a righty hitter.
-
QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) and we're 5-7 with DJ so I guess we need to call Ventura back and have him and Black Jack do the games. That would be pretty entertaining. I think we had a beastly record with the Pope in the booth during 2005.
-
I forgot how studly Logan is against MLB pitching. And people really don't want us to trade him if we can get something valuable for him.
-
We're 2-1 with Jack McDowell this year, and now we're 3-6 with Hawk.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) what a surprise! Runner stranded on second! To be fair, PK at 2nd base shouldn't be considered someone in scoring position.
-
QUOTE(Fotop @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:19 AM) Don't know if this has been said, but I'm almost hoping we plunk somebody. That way, when Padilla does it during his start we'll get a bench clearing brawl. We all know Padilla will hit someone (probably AJ), might as well get a head start and spark the team. That would require Ozzie doing something more than talking. He talks a big game.
-
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) C'mon Aki there's no way the sox can win this so strike out the side and lower my team's ERA! Hopefully he'll tear his labrum.
-
QUOTE(chisox72 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) But, but, but....he's been part of our offensive explosion tonight!! Why the f*** does Slammy get a meatball on 0-2?? The guy is an idiot, he would have swung at anything! You have to appreciate the adjustments made by Rangers hitters tonight. Kinsler was seeing all inside fastballs, so he cheated in his 3rd AB and crushed one. Sosa's big double was after getting a steady diet of outside fastballs.
-
I thought their pitcher had nothing. Shame on me.
-
At least Jermaine is getting a nice show at the offense he'll be hitting in next year. If Erstad gets enough ABs this year, maybe we can have an outfield of Pods/Erstad/Sweeney.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 02:15 AM) Told my buddy at the gym this afternoon that I GUARANTEED Sosa was homering tonight. Stuff like that always happens to us. Yep, I said that also probably due to the Garland/Thomas stuff.
-
How about someone show some balls and throw at Blalock here?
-
Haha, you have to be kidding me. A fastball to Sosa with 2 strikes? AJP is a terrible baseball player right now. At least Ozzie is happy now for Sosa.
