White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
So stupid....so stupid. Garland has a tough inning coming up here with top of the order.

Single digit pitch count this inning would be bad!

Ugh....need to be patient and make this Verlander's last inning.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:28 PM) Seeing the production with Mackowiak in the lineup, it just reaffirms my infatuation with wanting a platoon of him and Ozuna for LF and leading off. It is seriously our best option for LF. I honestly believe Mackowiak is just as fast as Pods now.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:29 PM) I think they will have to use Mesa or Grilli if the game is tied. Rodney has been looking so bad, I don't think that Leyland trusts him after yesterday's game. Mesa's on the DL

Some of the worst ABs I've ever seen from PK and Dye. Good job of tying though! Is it me, or does Mackowiak bring a lot of the intangibles to this team that Pods doesn't?

Another door left open by Tigers defense....look like a major leaguer JD.

Take a seat PK.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:14 PM) Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but Erstad's next XBH will be his first since his first at-bat of the year when he homered off of Sabathia. Yep....quite the tease that first AB was.

Haha....grinder at his best! It wasn't pretty, but I love the effort.

There we go! Bad defensive communication by the Tigers. If there's ever a time for the Erstad 4-3, it's right now.

Stupid swing by Uribe.

Garland's giving us a chance to get some momentum in this game. Let's get a few guys on base for Thome....for once!

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) At least Crede saw a few pitches. Verlander's at 65 now. One good inning and we can knock him out during the 6th or just make sure he doesn't get into the 7th. Uribe will work him next inning, I'm sure.

QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 06:00 PM) I'm not shocked at all. Thome has taken a ton of walks and PK can't hit. That cuts the doubles down a lot. Erstad can't have more than 2 extra base hits this year. Holy cow....that was pathetic.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
This is the part of the game where we've let good pitchers with high pitch counts go an extra inning or so do to hacking away. Verlander's getting locked in.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:57 PM) Something I just looked up. Sox are dead last in doubles with 16, and the Twins lead with 46. Wow, that's amazing. Shockingly we had two in a row to win the game yesterday also. Doubles is a good example of a team hitting the ball hard, which we have definitely not done so far this year.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) PK could definitely use a day off. And this way Anderson can play in CF, and we won't be missing the grinder effect with him at 1B.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
Wow....thankfully PK has two big hits this series, cause this is as bad as he's looked in a long time. Give him a day off tomorrow or Tuesday.

I think we're seeing why Ozuna only faces LHP. Still don't understand Iguchi sitting vs tough righty, as he's one of our best hitters against RHP.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Garland's definitely pitching like he doesn't care today...way to pick up your teammates Jon, it's not like we don't want to have a five game winning streak. We don't.

I feel like Hawk is cheating on Yaz, Catfish, and Jim Rice this year with Al Kaline and Dick Williams.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) if the kitties win big all we'll hear about is the motivational stylings of jim leyland who called out his team yet again and set them on the course of victory. f***ing bulls***. That's funny, cause he managed a horrible, horrible game on Friday night.

Mercy....it's been hard to follow these long fly balls to right field in Detroit.

Nice turn by Pablo there....better than Iguchi shockingly.
