White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Whew, that ball looked like it had a chance off the bat.

Hopefully we win this, but if we blow this, it would be a very demoralizing loss after yesterday's game. Nice urgency dickhead.

How many times in last few years have the Royals rallied against us late? If we lose this, it falls directly on Ozzie Guillen. In no way did he put us in the best chance to succeed this inning.

Well, the batter knows he's getting a fastball here.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:31 AM) Ozzie, has Thornton been watching TV before games with BA or something? I guarantee Ozzie is trying to get Sisco some confidence in a game against his former teammates. After seeing what happened this wknd about using too many relievers, it's really a pathetic managing decision. Go with your main 3 relievers, and try to get 6 outs.

Way to stay with it Erstad.

And Thornton is warming up. I hate you Ozzie Guillen.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
It's too bad we're playing the righty/lefty match-up instead of going for the win.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Ugh....not a good situation for Sisco at all.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Now I'm worried about Thornton's health. I hate Sisco in this situation where a walk puts the tying run to the plate.

Any word on if Thornton is available?

Just got back to see PK as my first batter. I see why he's playing today....and I also love seeing Riske in close games.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
This offense makes it seem so difficult to hit the ball hard consistently.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
I remember in years past how we used to score a ton of runs early in the game. It doesn't seem that way anymore.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:19 AM) Does Konerko plan on looking like a hitter this year? I have no clue why he's playing today.

And thats a White Sox loser...
What a terrible f***ing day of baseball. Cards failed to get the runner from 3rd in with no outs in the 9th, and then Rolen doesn't guard the line to prevent a double.

Hall ahead of Schedule!
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) Toby Hall can really help if he is able to comeback healthy. Molina calls a good game, but offensively he just isn't ready for the AA yet Fixed for accuracy

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) On the other hand, the Tigers don't look that good to me. I think we should beat them out this year: we have a better lineup (and hopefully we get our heads out of our asses and start showing it), a better bullpen, and comparable starting pitching. Cleveland scares the crap out of me when we play them, but they don't do as well against the rest of the league as they do against us. I like the Tigers rotation better as soon as they put Ledezma in for Durbin. I really like their 2-5 part of their lineup, as Sheffield is like PK, they won't be this bad all year.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) I have a bad feeling that KW will do something idiotically drastic at mid-season to get Rowand back. Like trading Anderson and Day for him. Considering Anderson has no future with us, and Day is as old as Contreras is, then that wouldn't be a horrible trade. We've made one great trade with Philly, and one horrible. Time for one in the middle.

QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) Would this be a bad time to mention the season Rowand is having thus far? Don't worry, he'll be back here as soon as he's a FA.

And thats a White Sox loser...
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) So you want another lefty on the bench? Since Ozzie is going to play Erstad no matter who's on the mound, then why not.

And thats a White Sox loser...
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) What will happen at some point pretty soon is that I anticipate the Sox going on a 3-4 game HR explosion where they put up a bunch of runs, then Walker's job is safe, then we'll go back to the same all or nothing approach and the cycle will start over again. Which means the usual August/September tank.

And thats a White Sox loser...
QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) I don't disagree. But the fact is the Sox put all their marbles in yesterday. Tough loss today, but if the Sox had all their tools available, they'd probably have walked out with a W. I'd rather put my marbles in sooner rather than later if the next day has Verlander on the hill. Absolutely....play for today, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. It's too bad Aardsma overthrew that fastball. Time to start hitting more consistently. I wish we still had Gload on the roster to back-up PK.

And thats a White Sox loser...
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) Oh, and I never even thought of Thornton (thanks to fathom bringing that up). He has been the least used reliever (outside of Logan, of course). Why not let him close it? And anyone else really wondering what the F AJ was thinking by calling for 3 straight fastballs to a good fastball hitter in Thames? He was sitting dead red fastball, and while it was bad location, a fastball should not have been thrown there. In fact, I didn't like that whole sequence to Thames. First pitch should have been a slider, to get Thames thinking, and make slow his bat down. After the first swing by Thames, he should have not seen another fastball.
