  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:31 PM) This bullpen will drive us mad. I'm still not sold on them at all. Control is going to be their biggest issue, and when you're pitching in an 11-3 game, the other team isn't going to try and be patient. Another amazing throw by our outfielders. DJ - it's not a good job getting into position if you have to catch it flat-footed.
  2. Two things: - it shouldn't be a surprise Iguchi struggled today. He's not very good against LHP. - I hate the notion that Iguchi was better as a #2 hitter. He got in the hole far too often, and that led to his numerous strikeouts. He'll be better down in the order. And if he isn't....don't worry. He'll be gone after this year anyways.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) A Brewer fan just walked in here -- I told him if Sheets stays healthy, there's no reason the Brewers shouldn't win the NL Central. Sheets - Capuano - Suppan is the strongest 1-3 in that division, so... They need one more hitter. How's their middle relief?
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) I'm up here in Milwaukee -- Ben Sheets is about to finish off the Doddddgers with a CG, one run outing. He's been excellent. STILL hitting 96, and there's two outs in the ninth. When healthy, he's gotta be the second best pitcher in baseball behind Santana. Enjoy it while he's healthy.....he just never can avoid back strains, etc.
  5. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) Yeah, I was so dissappointed Perez didn't make the roster. I don't see the point of keeping all of Pods/Erstad/Mack on the roster. It sounds like we were trying to trade Mackowiak on the day we had to release Perez, but couldn't find someone of value. What's Aardsma getting clocked at on the ESPN gun? He looks to be throwing harder than the other guys.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) He looked awesome that inning. Even better than usual. First inning of that game was hillarious, with ARod dropping a popup on the first play he got all year, and then striking out weakly.
  7. Mariano Rivera is throwing 98 mph cutters. Unreal QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) How come? I love GLoad btw. and we are going to rue the day we traded him. He is gonna LIGHT US UP. Because we should have given him a chance last year when Pods was slumping to prove he can play out there. It's no secret that the organization was down on Podsednik, and didn't plan on signing him this offseason.
  8. Thome and AJP have no chance vs C.C. Toby and Eduardo.....paging Toby and Eduardo.
  9. Gload starting in LF for the Royals today. That irks me so much.
  10. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) It's one game, put it in your pocket and move on...that simple. Not the end of the world...Count will be fine...just had bad location today and a few of those hits they got were WAY reaching...5000 feet outside pokes...rediclous...he pitched bad, but also had a lot of bad luck there. I'm not going to call it lucky. It was real good two strike hitting by the Indians, especially that hit by Peralta.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) Ugh, I already feel like its going to be very one-sided, and not on my side. As long as Oden gets in foul trouble, they'll be fine.
  12. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:34 PM) also... adam dunn is about to go tuffy rhodes on carlos zambrano 50 pct chance Zambrano hits him/throws one at him.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) Yeah, the new MLB gameday is kickass Good luck tonight. Hopefully it's not like a few years ago when the Sox blew that opening day game to the Royals, and it set the table for my Yellow Jackets to get blown out by UCONN (or maybe it was cause that UCONN team was incredible).
  14. So, any guess as to what position Stone will have in the Sox organization next year? I was told a few years ago that he'd be the next GM after KW....but that was prior to 2005. BTW, anyone that wants AJP to play 150 games this year just has to look at the swings he's taken vs C.C. today to see why Toby Hall was so important.
  15. I forgot how overmatched Thome looks vs C.C. I miss Eduardo!
  16. Where were the Indians ranked in runs scored last year? Also, I've said this all along, but Masset will be back in AAA by June.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:11 PM) Haha. Come on fathom. You know you can't trust comcast's gun ever. It's not just today. It sucks cause we never get a true reading. I thought it was more accurate due to how the hitter's were reacting towards the pitch.
  18. This is just pathetic. These guys have no energy. Quite the disturbing start to the season.
  19. This player on the Reds has quite the entertaining last name. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8003
  20. Due to the radar guns being off, I reserve the right to change my opinion about anything I've said about Contreras or Masset.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) As of right now he's a tick below Jenks. Hey, lookie there! One of our pitchers looked halfway competent against Sizemore! Masset is spotting that low-and-away fastball real well right now. He's throwing better this inning. His fastball is crisper. He still looks like he gives away his slider right away. My hope for him is to become a set-up man in the next few years. He's slimmer than I thought he'd be.
  22. Is it me, or is it weird to anyone else that we could only get an astronaut to throw out the first pitch on opening day?
  23. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 07:01 PM) Tomorrows sports page will be pretty funny if both the Sox and the Cubs keep this up. They'll just have the news about the Cubs being sold, and they'll list every single billionaire like Trump, Cuban, etc., and then state how they'll have a 200 million dollar per year payroll.
  24. First bunt out of the season that wasn't productive. That's one of the stats I hope to collect as the year goes on.
