Rocco Baldelli piques Sox' interest
If we're going to trade McCarthy to Tampa, it better be for Crawford.

Rocco Baldelli piques Sox' interest
QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) owens and broadway for rocco. Ha....Owens would be about 50th on Tampa's outfield depth chart.

Rocco Baldelli piques Sox' interest
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) I'm sure that could be talked down, and I believe when healthy Rocco is > than Crawford. Rocco isn't close to Crawford. Crawford is better in just about ever aspect.

Rocco Baldelli piques Sox' interest
Tampa's asking price is insane for Rocco. From the sounds of it, they'd want two top prospects like Fields and Broadway.

Steve Phillips....c'mon now
If Bonds wants to be a DH, he'll end up with the Tigers.

Steve Phillips....c'mon now
BTW, if the Sox were to get Bonds, then Anderson would be the perfect CF to go along with him.

Steve Phillips....c'mon now
What's the difference between Pods and Bonds? Both are horrific fielding left fielders who have seen their power numbers plummet since the 2004 season and both don't hustle down the line. One is a future Hall of Famer though, and the other one is a future Schaumburg Flyers designated hitter.

Steve Phillips....c'mon now
I really don't know why more teams aren't considering him. Yes, he's a bad person. However, the ratings for any game he plays in are going to be insane once he gets within 10 homers of the record.

Yahoo reports Mets talked to the Sox today about Garcia.

Williams working on extension for Buehrle/Garcia
QUOTE(ChiSox9 @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) How much do we get from the D-Backs? I thought I heard 3 mil on the radio today.

Bmac Snippet
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) Not to bring the room down, but it baffles me how personal trainers recommend him working out every day for fours per day. He's gained ten pounds, but there is a good chance that all that exercise will turn into over training and begin to negatively affect McCarthy down the road, specifically late in the season. You never know though...he's still such a young kid, and this seems to be his first serious workout regimen. Obviously by looking at his frame, he really could use it and hopefully it adds to his velocity. Don't worry though...if he hits the wall at the end of the season, many of us will be blaming KW/Ozzie for mishandling him in 2006. Good news about Lester though... I know he's your boy.

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd
Why trade for Rowand when, after another crappy season, he'll be begging for us to sign him to be our 4th outfielder? I think we can survive another season without him.

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd
Nightmare offseason checklist: - Bring back Pods - Bring back Sandy - Trade one of our starters for Rowand

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd
After about 10 minutes to rethink this trade, this might be the worst possible scenario that has been mentioned yet. Not only is the "prospect" we would acquire not very good, but Rowand is a 4th outfielder. I'd rather have McCarthy start the year in AAA than have this trade occur. However, I'm confident in saying this deal won't take place.

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd
QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) I would assume that Rowand would move to LF (or BA would), or be the fourth outfielder. If that isn't the case, then the deal isn't nearly as good as my previous thought. You really think Rowand wouldn't be placed in CF, and Anderson shown the door? You know Ozzie better than that, Felix my man!

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd
I'm really beginning to dislike Aaron Rowand.
-
Williams working on extension for Buehrle/Garcia
Madson reminds me of McCarthy in some ways, and that's not necessarily a good thing.
-
Williams working on extension for Buehrle/Garcia
I actually trust that Garcia will magically find his 92 mph fastball again during his FA year. On the other hand, unless the Phillies are offering Rollins, Howard or Hamels, I really hope KW puts down the phone. We can do much better than some crappy 4th outfielder and a medicore pitcher.

BTW, I hope people don't start freaking out if KW doesn't make a move during the meetings. It's better off if he waits until Zito and Schmidt sign.

Winter Meetings Thread
There's only one problem with the Yanks trade....ARod doesn't want to waive his no-trade clause. It's too bad Ozzie had to open his big mouth last offseason.

Sox show interest in Toronto's Wells
Two things: - We're not going to get Wells for just one of our starting pitchers. - Wells is going to get a contract in the 8 year, 140 million dollar range...we can thank the Cubs for this ridiculous market.

2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 06:10 AM) OK. And why would the Rockies want Jacque Jones? Anyone know? Because Jim Hendry has naked pictures of someone in the Pirates organization. In all honesty, this would be such a horrendous trade by Colorado. Jason Jennings is a damn good pitcher.
-
Williams working on extension for Buehrle/Garcia
On the other hand, this could be KW's way of saying "take it or leave it". It seems more likely now than ever that Garcia, Buehrle, or Vazquez will get traded in the next 2 weeks.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 06:01 AM) Whom might I ask is Paul Maholm? Minor league guy? Pirates LHP starter. Nothing special...especially if they give up Jennings AND Hawpe.
