Lefties hit better against Kennedy than righties do.

Time for the Sox to make the 6 remaining outs in less than 25 pitches.

QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) DAVID RISKE WHEN YOU GOT IT WITHIN ONE?!? I can't believe people actually want us to re-sign him this offseason. Every pitch he throws is a meatball.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) That's a GM issue. Good grief, it's impossible for you to ever criticize Ozzie, isn't it?

Gload in left?
I don't understand why we didn't give Gload a chance to win the LF spot about 2 months ago. The Twins season turned around when they stopped settling for mediocrity, and they removed Lohse from their rotation and released Batista.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) And when is the last time Konerko was pinch hit for in that type of situation? PK isn't in a massive slump against a certain type of pitcher. Thome is virtually worthless against LHP for about the last two months.

Time for Crede to be benched. His back has taken away all of his bat speed.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) He is on the bench with bad back, and 24 double plays. At least PK seems like he can get a hit when he's at the plate now.

Does anyone kill a rally quicker than Thome?
-
Sunday GameThread at Oakland
Keep contributing so much Thome...Garland could have hit a grounder like that.

Why not have PK ph for Thome here?

The worst thing is that people are going to keep saying that Frank knocked us out of the playoffs. Our chances were screwed well before Thomas homered yesterday.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Nice execution of that play. Tombstone this year. Its over. The season was over when we lost a 3 run lead in the 7th inning, and the Twins won with Silva on the mound against C.C.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) They have to get off the Thomas homer. Chavez followed it up with a shot in the gap. With the way Contreras is throwing tonight, they were going to score plenty of runs. WHY IN THE HELL DOES OZZIE FEEL THE NEED TO KEEP OUR STARTING PITCHERS IN FOR SO LONG, EVEN WHEN IT'S OBVIOUS THEY HAVE NOTHING LEFT?- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
Whoever coaches our outfield defense should be fired. Also, AJP just can't catch the freaking ball at home plate.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) The Sox just look like a defeated team. It would be nice to see some fire. Remember when Hawk and Ozzie's loyal followers used to say that Ozzie would NEVER allow this type of pathetic effort to take place? This season's over...and this is just the pathetic stretch of games before we're officially eliminated.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) I know, but with Bradley he appeared more comfortable than facing Chavez or Swisher, for example. Obviously, both of those players are better than Bradley; but this shouldn't be on the mind of a pitcher. He needs confidence to throw his pitches against anyone. Don Cooper either sucks, or he owes his reputation to steroids and greenies.- Ozzie haters
Since the only thing we can judge Ozzie by is what happens on the field, he's been pushing the wrong button almost every single time for the last month. Not exactly what you want when you're in a pennant race.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
Keep leaving Contreras in the game Ozzie.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
Uribe has definitely played himself out of Chicago. I can't wait for us to be eliminated so Fields and Sweeney can get some playing time, and we can shut down our starting pitchers. That might be the only time I've used "shut down" and "starting pitchers" in the same sentence all season.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
SWING THE FREAKING BAT!!! It honestly looks like these guys can't wait for this season to end.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Yesterday's outing by our pen was the most gutless display of pitching I've seen in a long time. They were literally afraid to throw strikes. I'd stick with Contreras for as long as he can handle the heat. Good thing we had Sandy back there to show his veteran presence...which shockingly equates to never winning a World Series ring even though he's been on teams with amazing talent.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
I'd laugh my ass off if Contreras drills Thomas in the back. All Contreras had to do was throw that forkball, and he would have K'd Thomas last inning.- Sunday GameThread at Oakland
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Is that a serious hit? Did he really just do that? What a f***ing b****. It's amazing the things you can do when you don't take a called 3rd strike. - Sunday GameThread at Oakland
