You know, Ozzie just has such a great feel for when to pull his pitchers.

Actually, it was 3-1 in the most important game of the year, and we brought in David Riske, one of the most unclutch pitchers in baseball. One pitch later, the Twins had the lead, and we've been down since then.

How about the stat someone showed that in the 2nd half of the year, we're only 1 game up on the Royals? Dear Ozzie....get Contreras out of the freaking game.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) I soo hope if we don't make the playoffs, there will be a retooling of this coaching staff. Lose Ozzie, Cora, Walker, and get some real coaches. As long as Ozzie's here, they're not going anywhere.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) I'd like to see Ozzie clear the benches and give some of the young guys a look. His '06 squad is shhit. Might as well get a look at the future. In about 5 days, we'll see that. How about the fact that Leyland shifted his rotation so Rogers would face the Sox?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) We'd still be hitting if we weren't trying to steal with no outs and less than two strikes. We'd still be hitting if Pods was allowed to be the same player he was in 2004

No one mentions this, but Crede has been amazingly unclutch for about the last 3 months.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) Is it ok to laugh yet? Oh yeah....and root for Ozzie to quit or call someone a derogatory name. I will root like crazy for Vaz and Garcia to end the season well though, in order to hopefully see their trade value improve.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) That was a terrible strike call on Crede before the strikeout. However, that last swing was vintage Choke Crede. Any surprise that Crede's been absolutely awful as soon as there was discussion about his contract again?

We should just quit the season after that inning. f*** THIS TEAM, AND OUR PATHETIC MANAGER.

Great AB by Crede....thankfully we don't have PK in the game. Thanks for resting him today Ozzie.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) It is getting to the point where I would rather see Gload as DH than watch Thome hitting like Frank Thomas during the 2000 playoffs. Getting to the point? It's blatantly obvious. Thome simply doesn't hit the ball hard. Hell, make Thome the leadoff guy...at least he can draw a walk.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) Need horrible baserunning killing a rally? Done. People forget how he cost us a run in Game 4 of the WS by getting faked out on a flyball with 2 outs in an inning.

QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) I see the Big Hurt hit another one against us. We need to win to avoid falling another game behind as the Twins won. The Twins are making the playoffs...we need to sweep the Tigers.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Despite what Frank says, I really doubt he's much of a fan of Ozzie. I agree...Ozzie seems to have a lot to say about Frank.

Knowing our luck, Pods will probably get hurt around game 160 or something like that.

Great job Pods...another magnificient jump you got. Don't worry, the Frontier League catchers don't throw very well.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) It's sad when the Yankees will be my #2 team in the American League in the playoffs. I'm rooting for a Yankees/Mets World Series. Maybe it's me, but rooting for Frank to win the WS is like rooting for your ex girlfriend to start dating a millionaire.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
Well, Frank has embarrassed the hell out of Ozzie, KW, Thome, and the Sox this series.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) It's embarrassing in a way. The ONE player who you didn't want to defeat you, yet, none of our pitchers could retire Thomas when they needed to. Sure would be fitting if this score held up and Thomas' HR decided the game. How do you not try and throw at least one forkball to Frank in that situation?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) I surely do miss Rowand hitting .245 in August, and .235 in September. And not showing up in the playoffs. God I wish I still had that on our team. Frank Thomas, the heart and soul of the whitesox. LMAO@You Don't forget bad base running and being a terrible clutch defender.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) The past month or so I've wondered what it'd be like having Rowand and Thomas in our lineup. A lot of people said we'd miss Rowand and I was not one of them. I've been proven wrong now. Good grief...the only reason Rowand would help us is that we wouldn't have to play Mackowiak in CF as much. Besides that, I'm happy his overrated ass is gone. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Vlad isnt doing enough to put his team in first. Neither is Ryan Howard

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) the reasons we arent winning? Aaron Rowand Frank Thomas we let the heart & soul of the team go bye bye... sad very sad... It's scary to me that people believe this. The reason we aren't winning is that we had a ton of guys have career years last season, especially from our starting pitchers.
