At least we gave our fans one last pathetic base running play to end the home season.

Our bullpen ERA over the last two months has to be close to 9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) Its pretty apparent Cotts cannot get anybody out. There is absolutely no reason to use him anymore this year. In fact, just so Ozzie won't be tempted, I think I would send him home. Maybe this offseason he'll focus on learning a second pitch instead of trying to drink Chicago bars out of business.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Cotts pitching like a champ. Boy did we ever catch lightning in a bottle with Cotts/Politte/Hermanson last season.

Wow...the crowd is extremely vocal in regards to Cotts.

Neal Cotts putting the icing on an absolutely terrible season. I hope we don't see him back next season.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) So he's talking out of both sides of his mouth again as it appears the player's personal stats are more important than the development of young players. It was funny to read this morning that Ozzie said he won't be watching the playoffs because he'll be jealous of the teams still playing. Didn't he just go off on Magglio because Magglio was quoted as saying the Sox would be jealous if Detroit was in the playoffs and the Sox were at home? Yep....he's an idiot. He's extremely hypocritical with everything he says.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) At what point do we actually get to see the kids play for the rest of the season. I dont need to see Pods again, ever. Lets see what Fields and Sweeney can do. Ozzie has already said he'll play the regular starters the rest of the year, as they have salary bonuses to still play for.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) Ichiro has been terrible this series. He's been terrible this entire 2nd half.

Is the Dye situation a serious injury, or did he just slip coming out of the box?

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Ya know... I completely agree. I am as much of a homer as anyone on here, but Brian Anderson is not going to cut it for us. He has played a complete season now, and is still awful. By the end of the season, he should be showing signs of life. I am all for signing a veteran CF. When the Sox are rumored for the next two months to be in the hunt for Pierre, Anderson is going to have no one to blame but himself. I begged for him all season to get more playing time, but now that the season is almost over....it's time to admit that Anderson sucked this season. If we can also find a nice offensive upgrade in LF, I wouldn't mind Pierre in CF. At least Pierre can play Ozzie ball if called upon (great bunter, can steal, and HE'LL MAKE CONTACT).

Haha...way to tag up AJ. I don't care if the season is over....if you're not going to play the game the right way, Ozzie should bench your ass. Brian Anderson is just a terrible hitter. I don't blame Ozzie for wanting to upgrade in CF for next year.

Mariners At White Sox 9/23/2006
Buehrle's ERA is now 4.99....and the great thing is that we're in a position where we have to determine how he's going to be for the next 4 years.

It's OVA!
I'd be willing to bet anything this team won't be given a standing ovation tomorrow.

Mariners At White Sox 9/23/2006
Here come the boo birds. This team is an absolute joke. Ozzie really does know what's best for this team.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Why is Mark Buerhle on the mound? Cause we're trying to diminish his trade value even more?

Sox lose again
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) Just mailing it in. They are SUCH a disappointment this season. Its really sad. This season has really set back our organization. KW needs to change around the momentum this offseason.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) And our playoff hopes just got a lot smaller. Our playoff hopes were gone a week ago today. This is just pathetic right now.

Tied....thanks to Thome. It will be fun watching him aim for 500 next season.

Off to a promising start already. Buehrle is a shell of his former self right now. At least we get to see Gload leading off.

Sox lose again
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 04:56 AM) Have to play the teams in front of you. NY,Detroit,Minny all played the NL to. Kenny, you got some work to do. Way more than I thought you were going to have to do. Yes, but was I was saying is that compared to the other teams in our league, we seem to be just average when we play them. A lot of people a few months ago pointed out that the Red Sox would have been under .500 if you took out that NL games....and then they got swept by the Yankees and their season was over.
-
Sox lose again
It's plain and simple...this isn't a good team this season. We're only a few games over .500 when you take out the NL games. We flat out didn't deserve the playoffs.

QUOTE(BigNDfan80 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:45 AM) Anybody want to mention that this team hasn't quit? They look like they're rushing to get to the off-season. The Twins dropped the last 2 games and the Sox can't beat a bad Mariner team. I still wonder if people think that this team deserves a standing ovation on Sunday? I'm sorry, but there's no way I can be convinced that this team is still playing with 100 pct intensity and effort. Joe Crede has had some of the most selfish at-bats I've seen in a long time....and there's been no bigger fan of Joe Crede than myself this season.

Seattle @ Sox - Last Ditch Effort
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:42 AM) No offense to the BA lovers, but is he a worse prospect now than Jeremy Reed/ Borchard? BA has 32 RBIs this season; good job, Brian. And an ofer again tonight for BA. I would say that he's EXTREMELY overrated on soxtalk, and underrated by Ozzie Guillen. With that said, I don't anticipate that he's going to be our starting CF next season. Thankfully we're letting Chris Stewart get some valuable experience in the majors.

Seattle @ Sox - Last Ditch Effort
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:40 AM) fathom you know very well by now you and I disagree on the importance of the coaches/managers. I blame the players. Blow up the actual pitchign staff; not the coach. It's a hell of a lot easier to fire a coach than it is to replace a pitching staff...especially one that makes as much money as ours. And I'm sorry greg, but anyone who still thinks Ozzie is a good manager must not be watching the same team that I am. This team has absolutely stopped responding to him over the last two months, and Ozzie's been unable to do the one thing that he's supposed to be good at, which is motivate his team.
