  1. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) My most memorable moment of teh 2006 season...The Sandy Alomar acquisition. I remember everyone praying that Rongey was wrong when he said the trade was in the works. Can we release Sandy due to lack of game preparation?
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) YAYYY WHITE SOX I don't think you can get more symptomatic of why our offense sucks now than that inning. Our 3-4-5 guys get on with no outs, and then even with 2 outs, a single doesn't score the runner.
  3. Alomar tries to pull the outside sinker. What a pathetic acquisition he was. Leyland was a great job of giving his team the best chance to succeed there.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) So, what do you guys think -- first pitched popped up to end the inning? If Guillen decided to leave in Rogers you know the decision would backfire. Let's see what happens with Leyland. Grounder to 3rd is my prediction.
  5. Leyland's leaving Rogers in, as he wants Sandy batting here.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) IMO: we lost the heart of the whitesox clubhouse in FRANK THOMAS. we lost the young spirited "i will run thru walls to win" AARON ROWAND. the only guy left that is a motivated emotional leader is AJ. I can guarantee you that Frank Thomas was anything but the heart of the Sox clubhouse.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) Great catch by Maggs Dye would have picked that ball up after two hops.
  8. Nice play by Ordonez. The amazing ABs continue though.
  9. A nice break there. Crede's looked good vs Rogers, so I bet Leyland will pull him.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) well the casual baseball fan would have looked back on our past 3 games and said..."oh... 1. Santana pitching at home 2. Verlander pitching at home 3. Rogers pitching at home i can understand 0-3." it is a little ironic that today is the day that AROW may be lost for the season.... So are we going to keep tipping our caps? We tipped our cap to Hernandez and Bernero last week. How about our starters pitch well enough that the other team has to tip their cap?
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) I don't know Fathom... not that it would help, but I really wouldn't mind PK, AJ or Ozzie come out and just rip on the teams performance the last week. Hawk is really drilling it home tonight about the lack of fire from this team Ozzie's rants have no impact anymore, as he does it all the time. No offense, but I'm sick of hearing things like "Ozzie needs to yell at these guys, etc". If these guys don't find it in themselves to get pumped up for the last month and a half of a pennant race, then they don't deserve to make the playoffs.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) I don't want to hear anyone from the team. Fixed
  13. MacDougal in the bullpen? It might be time for us to find a 12th pitcher, as MacDougal doesn't need to be pitching in these situations.
  14. We've seen more Uribe blown bubbles (3) than Sox hits tonight. This is as flat as we've looked in the last 5 years.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) Sweet. 2 hits. And wasn't one of those only because Rogers slipped?
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) Our starting pitching staff proved to everyone last year their collective ability! OZ pushed the starters to go late in games. They did. Then we had a short off-season and still these guys have been pushed. What we are seeing are stud pitchers just dogass tired. The only remedy at this point is to give BMAC 6 starts before year end and give some of these guys some rest. OR get the starters to give a good 5/6 innings and then utilize what appears to be a major upgraded and untested bullpen. Then again I aint no COOP so I really dont know WTH I am talking about, but from what I see..... Maybe Ozzie should have been more proactive, and had a much shorter leash for these guys this season? Of course, they simply lied to us about having McCarthy as a safety net in case these guys get fatigued.
  17. Another stunner...a 3-2 offspeed pitch.
  18. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) Yeah there's something really odd about Ozzie's use of BMac, and I don't get where the attitude comes from. Don't get myself or Jason started on Ozzie.
  19. I think SSI might be having a heart attack.
  20. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) i love sandy alomar! first he makes a dumb ass joke about AJ. second he's old and sucks. and third, he was supposed to be the 'savior' for the struggling pitching staff. haha what a joke. im sorry Widger wherever you are. That's a very deceptive 3 for 21 Sandy has for us this season!
  21. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) It's nearly impossible to trade a SP for some spare parts at the deadline to open up a spot for McCarthy? I don't think that's right. KW and Ozzie have a lot of pride in our main 5 starting pitchers, and they weren't going to trade them just to get rid of them. I know we joke about this, but Ozzie doesn't think nearly as highly about Cy McCarthy as a lot of people do on this site.
  22. This is as sickening an example of pull baseball as I can ever remember.
  23. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) I encourage anyone going to the Twins series coming up to boo every player. Maybe that'll get the message across b/c obviously playing the teams you are chasing for the playoffs does nothing to fire up this team. I think you've turned me into an Athiest.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) That should be obvious. You can do that in the off-season, its impossible or nearly impossible to do that at the trade deadline. On a sidenote, sorry about being overly harsh, it wasn't really direct at you, rather I'm so sick of seeing a million posters seemingly thinking we could have done that. Fact of the matter is that wasn't an option. We could have tried to get Lidle and some other veteran (like a Greg Maddux) but I still don't think that makes this rotation acceptable. Plus we'd have been stuck with other starters. As you've said, there were no starting pitching moves that were possible. With that in mind, KW definitely should have made a move to upgrade our offense. He was kidding himself if he thought our offense would maintain the great level they were performing at.
