  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) How do you figure? Both Anderson and Dye have plus arms... And while Pods arm is below avg. not so much to make us the worse throwing or even close to it. Now on the first part of your statement I agree 100%. Well maybe the Reds are pretty piss poor too with Dunn and Griffey. It's weird with Anderson and Dye. They have strong arms, but just don't throw people out. Anderson's arm looks good, but he hasn't perfected the one hop throw yet to a base.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Alright, 6. More. Outs. Any chance it will be easy?
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) With the haircut, I think Crede resembles Widger. I thought that was a bad omen. Way to come through. We broke the Curse of the Widge last night.
  4. Hey...great job Joe! He was patient, and took a great swing. Lets add one more.
  5. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) how bout you cut him some slack... its 100+ degrees out there and he has been squatting in catchers gear for 7+ innings... and he is perfect at the plate. He's a catcher...part of his job is to catch the ball. He's done a great job at the plate today, but he could have made a better effort on that pitch in the dirt.
  6. Crede's likely going to get some high fastballs by Hawkins here. Lets hope he takes a nice, level swing. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) detroit looking strong again, glad there doing this to twins and might not be as hot for us 3-0 Gotta admire that they get a leadoff double, and within 5 pitches, they have a sac bunt and a sac fly.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) Agree 100% there. Sure it wouldn't have been easy by any means, but he gave it a bullspiff effort. We had an epidemic of 2 out wild pitches last season. I think Contreras and Garcia were in the top three in WP all season.
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Well I certainly can't criticize Pierzynski's hitting today. 5-5. And here comes LaTroy. Yeah, AJP has looked great at the plate, spreading the ball out all over the field. This would be a huge 2 out hit for the Sox. Sadly, Crede looks like he has no chance right now.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) There is something new wrong with this team in every game. If it's not the hitting, it's the pitching. If it's not the pitching, it's the fundamentals, or the defense, or the managing, or the situational hitting. There's just something in every game, and they never all click at once. And it makes you wonder if it's just not meant to be this season.
  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) our team needs mojo... our team needs a win a lot more. Losing this game would be a TERRIBLE lose, especially after last night.
  11. Russ Ortiz has sadly kept the Orioles in this game.
  12. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) there goes all our mojo though... win this 11-4 and we're happy, win 11-9... not so much Screw mojo...get the win.
  13. In games that Anderson's on the bench, we have the worst outfield defense in baseball. Even with Anderson in the field, we have the worst throwing defense in baseball. Our LF should be a DH in A ball.
  14. Ok! Could have been much worse. Good job MacDougal.
  15. Wild pitches are a staple of MacDougal's. Terrible effort by AJP though.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) They did not go up and under Gibbon's hands once in that at bat. I do not understand that pitch calling. Nope, it scared the crap out of me. They were begging for him to just hit a rocket the opposite way (he has a lot of power that way). Cotts rarely throws inside to lefties though, as his control still isn't precise.
  17. Conine's going to be looking dead red on the first pitch.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) Cotts lose velocity, too? Has every single one of our pitchers from last year lost a few mph? It happens when you have a very long run in the playoffs, and you have a core group of guys who pitched a lot during the season.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) If he threw a slider on the outside corner, he'd K him. Gibbons is close to squaring up the heater. Well, he tried, but it was just a bad pitch.
  20. If he threw a slider on the outside corner, he'd K him. Gibbons is close to squaring up the heater.
  21. Gotta get Gibbons here. Like J. Jones, he can drive a Cotts fastball out over the plate right into the LF seats. Make a good pitch Neal!
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) Maybe Cotts and McCarthy should start pitching better. Of course they should. Like you said, Cotts has been really bad recently. He's fallen in love against with his high fastball, and when your velocity is down a few mph, it's a lot more hittable.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) Now they are in trouble. Cotts has been awful. Would it have been that difficult to just go Thornton/MacDougal/Jenks to hopefully end this game? He has got to try to get the hitters off-balanced.
  24. We just can't get them out right now. Why is MacDougal warming up if we're not bringing him in?
