Ozzie should get McCarthy up in the pen again.
Terrible start to this inning. Garland's got to make some tough pitches again, or he's not finishing this inning.
10 hits allowed by Garland in 4+ innings.

I hope he does this much more often. With the bullpen we have, we can afford to let the pen pitch 4-5 innings in some games.
And when the pitcher sees a guy warming up, it might motivate them a little more. No pitcher wants to get pulled when his team has a big lead prior to the 6th inning.

is he pitching inside at all?
Yes, he has been. The Orioles have had good swings against him. He hasn't thrown a good changeup all game.
Check out the new thread on the board. The one about Anderson/Ortiz. It's amazing, simply amazing.
Ortiz is a good hitter. They should use him as a righty off of the bench.

LOL @ Ortiz. Didnt we almost trade for him?
Yes, it was close. Gammons thought it was a done deal. Thankfully, Damian Moss was offered, and two terrible pitchers were exchanged.

Yes I think so ... the guy they picked high and didn't sign. Townsend, right?
I think so, if it's not, I'll let you know.
QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 09:55 PM)
No then it wasn't him. There was some guy they screwed up on, can't say his name.
And there is the Gold Glove defense from Gload you were asking about.
Was it one of those Rice pitchers? Maybe Townsend?

I love what Jermaine Dye has been doing with the bat... but man whenevr I watch he looks sooo slow in the OF. I know he has had a lot of injuries but he still looks fast or above avg. on the base paths....
I feel guilty complaining about it (probably sounds funny coming from me), but Dye's defense is real bad. He has no range out there, and his arm has been very disappointing since he's been with the Sox. Something that's been hurting him recently is he's not charging the ball well at all. It's making it very easy for teams to run at will on him.

Notice Jon is going in on right handers. This is what he did last year in the first half to make him so successful. Pound them in, back them up, and let the sinker run.
And he left that pitch over the heart of the plate.
