  1. Hawk...you continue to be a massive idiot.
  2. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) Just put the f***ing ball in play... You take the good with the bad with Thome. It's another reason why small ball in front of him is stupid.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) Pods supposedly had a damn good jump, so I doubt that was a hit and run, that was a steal attempt. Yep, and Iguchi was trying to protect him....which is what I'm against. Oh well....Thome has a job to do.
  4. Ugh...I hate when Iguchi gives himself up like that. If it was a hit-and-run, then I take it back.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Should BA have caught the double? I didn't see it. Nope. He shouldn't have dove, but luckily, it bounced over the fence. Off the bat, I thought Ordonez had a homer.
  6. Ok....we caught a break, and Garcia found a way to keep them scoreless. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) Any time Garcia gets it over 86 mph, he's overthrowing and can't come particularly close to the strike zone. Can someone confirm that the Comcast gun is accurate? So far this year, it's been less accurate than Kyle Orton.
  7. Got away with a hanger. He has him set up for the changeup.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Mack would have had that.... The funny thing is that if Mackowiak was in the game, people really would have stated that Anderson would have had that.
  9. We just got saved by the ground-rule double. Terrible pitch selection to the smart hitter.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:11 AM) You would think Sox fans would understand its probably not the best idea to judge Freddy by his 1st inning, but I guess people never learn... That was Garcia of 2005 though. 2006 Garcia hasn't been that bad in the first inning, from what it seems. It's more that as the game goes on, the teams realize that he's not picking up his velocity.
  11. Anyone have a clue what the Cell gun is saying?
  12. Well....Freddy looks crappy already.
  13. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) I wish Pablo was playing tonight..he makes things happen With all these righties on the Tigers and Garcia on the mound, you can't afford to have Pablo in the game.
  14. Quick observation...in the past, Robertson gave us problems because our hitters would take too many called 3rd strikes. He'll pitch inside to our righties, especially with 2 strikes. We need big games from PK, Dye, and Crede tonight.
  15. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Cintron is starting at SS. Apparently Uribe's wife is giving birth. Uribe isn't even at the park. It looks like Uribe's wife is the only person to get him not to pull off the ball too early.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) Just what we need to do...weaken our bullpen even more. I see your point, and you're right...but it doesn't work without us finding another RH reliever somewhere. Personally I'd still prefer to see Brandon in the starting 5 next year though. You know I'd like to see McCarthy in the rotation NOW, but for some reason, I don't feel like the organization is too high on him. I have no doubt that KW will add another RH reliever, any my prediction is that it will be Roberto Hernandez.
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) I'd trade BMac and Uribe for him straight up if Baltimore did it with them possibly paying some salary. I think Tejada is that damn good that I'd trade McCarthy, Fields, and Uribe for Tejada. If you get Tejada, you make every aspect of the team better. With the extra offense, it gives your pitching a little more breathing room.
  18. Did Omogrosso really hit 10 batters in 41 innings?
  19. Great to see Thome back in the lineup
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Is that John Shelby Jr.? Yep
  21. Reeves is our Rich Brooks pick of 2006
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) I don't think Tyler Reeves is bad. Give me a guy who could hit .300 with 13 hr's anyday. He sounds like an AJ Pierzynski clone. Anyone know how good of a game he calls? He wasn't one of the top 100 prospects in Texas, and that's not because he was an unknown. I also just learned that the Cubs are expected to try and make Jeff S. choose between baseball and football with a monster signing bonus.
  23. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) I disagree, Smardtza has really came on, outstanding athlete with good stuff, but he's more of a project than the typical collegiate QB taken early on. Like you said...he's a project, but will he really have the time to develop as a pitcher. He's a sure-fire top 15 pick in next year's NFL draft. The Cubs are going to give a lot of money to a project who I would be shocked if he ever contributed in the majors.
