  1. 2 on, no outs. A bunt would be stupid, as PK won't be able to beat the throw to third.
  2. EXCELLENT! Cintron made a nice stop on that grounder, as it almost bounced over his shoulder.
  3. Contreras struggling to find the arm angle this inning. With the new arm angle he's working on, is he planning on throwing less forkballs?
  4. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Please expound. Not much needs to be said. The person running his recruitment is looking out for himself, and himself only. Most of the stuff has been well documented. Just like the Sherron Collins recruitment, programs are better off shying away from the politics.
  5. I have it on good authority he'll be going to the highest bidder.
  6. Yep, it was just a matter of time before this happened. Again, Cliff has my never-ending admiration for his performance in 2005.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Playing CF? I didn't know they ID'd when he got hurt that specifically. I'm pretty sure that they said he hurt it on a play in center field. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) This is true, even with his recent struggles he's still kept a pretty high OBP, .360 as of right now which is very respectable especially cosidering just how low his batting average is. Yep....he's simply not swinging at the plate. Thus, he's either drawing walks, or striking out looking.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) No we haven't. We did quite a bit last year. And that's when he got hurt
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) Seems somewhat pointless ratting him out. I think it's become public knowledge that he was quite juicy for a good portion of his career. True, but he's such a piece of s***....I wish nothing but the worst for him. He was a fraud.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Day 2 has begun and the 19th round is underway 19. Jeffrey Dunbar - C - University of Riverside Is that 3 catchers in the first 20 rounds?
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) He has been pretty bad of late, hell his batting average is down 25 points since May 28th and 42 points since May 15th. Meanwhile....Grady Sizemore continues to get better.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:18 AM) Apparently Grimsley ratted out several guys....that could be interesting. There's a certain former teammate, rumored to be from last year, that's now living in Florida who he ratted out. Sound familiar to anyone.....the guy's supposed to have a short name.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Is this the same Pods who now is pulled for Mackowiak for defensive purposes late in games? Trust me, there's no one who hates Podsednik....and Ozuna's defense more than I do. However, I sense things are getting desperate. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Book this. fathom is Batman. He predicted an odd line-up the other day that nobody thought could happen. It happened. That lineup scored 8 runs.....and we still lost!
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Ozuna in CF?! Over Mack? No. Mack isn't too good out there, but he is a world better than Ozuna defensively. I would think more likely Mack starts in CF, or maybe even Pods, and Ozuna becomes the backup-OF like Mack was. I think we'll try Pods in CF, and Ozuna in LF.
  15. I'll guarantee this....if Anderson continues to slump for the next few weeks, he won't be on the big league roster come July.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) Yeah, but it also might remind him that he actually can hit a baseball every so often. The best thing that could happen for Anderson is to be sent back to the minors. He's not going to get enough at-bats at the MLB level to get in a rhythm. He's absolutely clueless at the plate, and facing mediocre pitching in the minors might help him get his confidence back up. I'm going to make the prediction that on Wednesday, Pods and Ozuna will be in LF/CF.
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) The Sox aren't going to bring Sweeney up to play CF. Jerry Owens is hitting .220. He's not coming. Last I checked, the Sox don't have locks on the entire contents of their stalls in the clubhouse, so Rivera isn't coming, and they aren't going to bring a guy from AA who will be just as bad as Anderson offensively, while giving you less defense. Like someone said before, its either Mack, Ozuna, or Pods in CF or a trade, and I don't think anyone's looking to do KW any favors. I think some GMs are eagerly anticipating a call from KW. They know he's not afraid to give up talent in order to acquire talent.
  18. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) Man... This sucks. All these guys doing well in AAA, then biting it in the majors. The reason for this is that the talent level is miserable in AAA this year. Long time minor league scouts say it's as bad as it's ever been. The team ERAs are all very low due to the lack of hitting in the league. The only guy who I'm truly impressed with so far, by his numbers, is Fields.
  19. With the Twins continuing to lose, and Kubel getting more playing time, I really wonder if Lew Ford would be available for a few mid-level prospects. He's not hitting great this year, but we all know he's a tough out and plays the game the right way. The same can be said about Brady Clark, who I've heard we have some interest in.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) Who is even playing CF in AAA and AA for us now? Ruben Rivera or Sweeney, from what I remember
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) I know this, I'm not sure why they did, but thank God they yanked Zumaya last night. Rodney's actually been much better than Zumaya this season.
  22. QUOTE(NYSox35 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Agreed, but some kid who has done nothing should not be calling out Konerko, a two time All Star and World Champion. Paulie is never one to showboat or brag about being an All Star, so this irritated me. I don't see anything wrong with what he did. As someone said earlier, that's a tremendous competitive attitude the young man has.
