  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) If Hawk says he hasn't gotten hit, how does he justify the 11 hits including 3 home runs? The Blue Jays have hit the ball harder tonight than anyone has against our pitchers all season.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Freddy has a longer hook than anyone on our team. He can get demolished for 50 runs and he would still be out there chugging and sweating. How would he be able to get the win if he's taken out?
  3. That's right....DJ just said Garcia hasn't been throwing bad. He's thrown nothing but batting practice this inning. Even Garcia's outs the last few innings were on hanging breaking balls.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:35 AM) What is Hawk's damn email? I need to f***ing yell at him that sometimes a pitcher just f***ing throws meatballs, it's not always tipping damn pitches. That's bulls***....APOLOGIZE! The 2006 White Sox have already been inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame.
  5. QUOTE(BFirebird @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Update...3-2 tigers....Peralta 2 RBI double I thought tigerfan was giving up updates???
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) put the f***in pen in We have a tough schedule coming up. I'd rather sacrifice Garcia tonight, and keep some of the guys fresh for the rest of this road trip. I'll definitely be happy with a 4-3 road trip.
  7. Garcia = no focus tonight
  8. QUOTE(BFirebird @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) The problem is...what will really be available? There are too many teams that will be in the race or think they will be in the race to give up good players. Crawford may become available...but at what cost? Lew Ford would be a great addition to this team.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) I would so nail Fischer. I wonder how she's feeling now that her rumored boyfriend's not playing in Chicago anymore.
  10. Garcia look pathetic now. They're hitting rockets off of him. This Blue Jays offense is too good for him (thankfully, Mother Nature allowed Garcia to beat them earlier in the year).
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) The two autoouts at the bottom of our lineup are going to hurt us in the NL parks when we take Thome out of the lineup. It possibly will start to cost us in the next month as we face better teams and wont thump everyone into submission. Or if some of our guys cool off (Dye, AJP, etc). There's not a doubt in my mind that KW is going to be in the market for another center fielder in the coming months.
  12. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) We cant hit soft tossing lefties.... Lilly's nowhere near a soft tossing lefty. However....our best hitter vs lefties is on the bench.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) It's disgusting how predictable these two are. well said
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Its going to be a while, who is going to replace him?? 1 auto out Mackowiak's going to get a lot of time in CF now. I hate to say this, but Anderson's shown me nothing to suggest he can hit major league pitching.
  15. Garcia's lucky that pitch to Rios wasn't hit 450 feet.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) He needs to take a pitch or two. He is so afraid of striking out, he jumps on the first pitch near the plate. It's amazing to me how infrequently he hits the ball hard. He'd be much less of a concern if he was hitting into tough luck. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) how's toronto's pen? They have the best closer in baseball so far.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) They obviously have something to do after the game with their approach at the plate tonight. Lilly is not a strikeout artist. He feasts on teams that will chase his fastball up. He has a few Ks already on pitches well up and out of the zone.
  18. Lilly has our hitters chasing everything he throws to the plate. Our hitters were successful working the count in the 2nd inning.....but why keep doing something that works?
  19. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 27, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) I think Freddy should throw his fastball out of the zone. The funny thing is that his stuff is much sharper than it has been most of the year. The Blue Jays have, in my opinion, the best all-around lineup in baseball. However....you can't keep throwing a great hitter like Wells the same pitch, and not expect him to crank it.
  20. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ May 26, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) You're kidding right? He's 25, and not at all that great. Cabrera is a 3 years younger, and almost twice as good the hitter, from OPS+ anyways. Ok....least experienced, most improved player. I thought he was younger than 25 though. He's the closest I've seen to a 5 tool player in a long time.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 26, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Freddy is so trash at holding runners Some decade, we'll call a pitch-out in a blatant running spot.
  22. Rios = best young player in baseball.

    QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 26, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) I think we should use Fields as trade bait, then use him to pick up some relievers or whatever other spots we need help at. I'd keep Crede. Personally, I'm going to be pissed off if we trade Fields for a reliever. The only exceptions would be if it's a top-notch reliever, but that type of pitcher likely won't be available.
  24. Dempster with another craptastic performance!
  25. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 26, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Last year we faced Ted Lilly in Toronto and bombed the living crap out of him early. Lets recreate that and drop the bomb on them this weekend. Lilly's a high fastball pitcher. Our offensive success will probably be dictated by whether or not our hitters can get on top of his high pitch. He reminds me of a lefty version of Scott Elarton, who we've struggled against with the high fastball.
