The 1-2 curve that Vazquez threw for a ball to Wells was absolutely nasty. Safe to say that every single righty hitter on the Sox would have K'd on it.

Another game where I just don't understand the reason for Gload being on this team. It's a shame we can't have a legit back-up to play the outfield against lefty pitchers.

I'd say that Pods probably was CS or picked-off about 32 times last season.

I know this is probably the wrong thread for this, but with the rumors that Miguel Cabrera might be on the market this coming offseason, it will be interesting to see if Ozzie and company try to make a run at him. He'd be the perfect long-term fit for LF.

I watched the game on tape when I got home, and Garland's offspeed pitchers were terrible. Not only were they up in the zone, his curve and change-up were just extremely flat. He doesn't have a good enough fastball to be a one pitch pitcher.

This is an unsual type of post for me, but it's very encouraging that this team could EASILY be 8-1.

I think it's safe to say that Thome deserves a standing ovation tomorrow.
