  1. This Blue Jays lineup is going to give us trouble all year. Guys like Cat, Zaun, Adams, and Glaus have always given us trouble. You have a superstar in Wells, and a very solid hitter in Overbay....and I don't like our chances vs them.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:04 AM) If it continues for awhile, I would imagine he'd just switch Cliff and Bmac. That wouldn't work out, because Cliff would still have to pitch a good amount. And I also think that Ozzie already has made that move.
  3. Kenny Williams....we're going to need another righty in the bullpen.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) Well. It's something. The number of runs scored in early April is pretty staggering. Look around baseball. Every pitcher is 2 or 3 mph slower this year. Also, I've never seen so many no-name relievers on teams. I consider myself a knowledgable baseball person, and I haven't heard of about 20 pct of the relievers in the majors.
  5. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) I'm going to mark this game up as worst game of the year. Absolutely horribly played by almost everyone on the team. We were up 3, with our "dominant" pitcher in. He should have come out after it was 5 to 4, and this game is a different game. Anderson needs to go, hes done. He's horrible. We're in big trouble if Politte keeps throwing beach balls out there over the plate. Last Friday was worse than this. I don't even think it's close. If Ozuna can catch a routine fly ball, we win that game easily.
  6. And yes....here comes Hawk with his juiced ball theory. My personal theory isn't that the ball is juiced. Rather, the pitching around baseball sucks this year.
  7. Well......Politte's terrible now. I'm sure happy we were bunting in the 5th inning though.
  8. I don't think there's a chance in hell that Ozzie will play Anderson against AJBurnett tomorrow. If so.....well, it might get ugly.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:51 AM) This game has been ugly.. Yep, it's just too bad we couldn't get one more hit in those earlier innings when we had so many people on base. On a warm night at the Cell, you just knew it wouldn't be enough.
  10. The Blue Jays manager deserves a lot of credit for pulling Downs when he did. That was the only way they were staying in this game.
  11. Chulk just totally owned Thome. That's how you switch up pitches on a great hitter.
  12. In fairness to Greg....if he can't see this on TV, he might not realize how bad Anderson looks.
  13. Well....Ozzieball cost us that inning. I'm confident we can score two more runs this game...but we have to keep Toronto from scoring.
  14. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) Cmon ND we can't assume multi talented anderson is gonna make an out every time up. Ummm...actually, it should be the job of the manager to put his team in the best position to win. I hope Ozzie didn't think Anderson had a real good chance against Walker's slider.
  15. Way to go Brian! Enjoy watching tomorrow's game on the bench.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) I assume he screwed up the bunt. At some point a Widger has to execute if he wants to get in any games. I would blame the bunter not the call for the bunt. It was actually a very good bunt. Crede just got a bad secondary lead, and he's so slow. It's another reason why you don't bunt in that situation.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) Trying to show confidence in his hitters. Exactly....let Widger swing the bat then. It's too early to be playing for one run. And it's not like Anderson is just having bad luck at the plate. There's a difference between struggling to get a hit....and just swinging the bat poorly.
  18. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Wow - bunting with Anderson on deck. Yep, makes no sense whatsoever.
  19. Wow....we have a slow team.
  20. Is it too early to consider a PH for Anderson if he comes up with 2 guys on?
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) If Dye would have hit the cutoff man, Javy might have gotten a DP out of the third hitter.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) How has Anderson sucked today? Score? Inning? Had a pathetic K with the bases loaded in the 2nd, and hit into a DP with them loaded in the 3rd.
  23. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) This isn't a second-guess. About 4 batters ago I was wondering why no one was up in the pen. It was clear that Vazquez was struggling. And he's still out there getting hit. I don't get it. I have a ton of confidence in Javy, but on this night he didn't have his stuff. He should've been out of there at 5-4 IMO. If you've seen one Ozzie managed game, you've seen them all. He'll almost always keep that starter in to finish the 5th inning.
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) Can someone give me an overview? Inning? Score? Outs? Yeah....Brian Anderson sucks. We should have had a 5 or 6 run lead. Instead, Vazquez is doing his best Garland impersonation from this year.
  25. Great piece of hitting by Glaus. The first of many high earned run games for Vazquez at the Cell.
