  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) Way to go Uribe. Now we got to hope Jon can keep this lead and that our bats can muster up some more insurance runs. Is it too much to ask for an uneventful top of the 5th inning?
  2. Jphat....WE CAUGHT A BREAK! Great job of taking advantage guys.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Strange play. Nice piece of hitting Joe. It was strange, but if the throw's on line, Dye's out before Thome crosses home.
  4. Way to go Joe....great looking swing. Thome didn't seem to be running well that inning, and I'm shocked that Sanders didn't throw home.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) PK gets the f*** jammed out of him. 2 down. Our hitters are struggling with Affeldt's heater tonight.
  6. Garland's had very good command of his fastball. He's still struggling to keep his changeup down.
  7. I get the sense that a lot of guys are in launch mode tonight.
  8. Jphat....were you on suicide watch after those bloopers that inning? How about we get a bloop and a blast this inning?
  9. Good catch by Anderson. He's going to bust up his chin on one of those bellyflops.
  10. Terrible slide by Sweeney...even though I think he was still safe.
  11. What a great play by Dye!!
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) Yes it was. Ugh...that's not promising. It seems like he'd have a very hard time pulling the ball with authority. He's trying so hard to hit it to right field, he'd have to roll over to hit the ball to left field (which was what we saw when he hit into that double play last Friday). I think we can all agree we'd rather just see Anderson cut it loose at the plate.
  13. Good swing by Pods....pathetic swing by Anderson.
  14. Anderson has a huge hitch in his swing right now. Was it this bad last season? I honestly can't remember.
  15. I don't know what that pitch was that he just threw, but if it's his changeup, just keep it in the bag for right now. It was a 85 mph meatball down the plate.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Quit f***ing around on the outer half for crying out loud DJ was rather angry in his analysis of Garland's approach now. Way to go DJ!
  17. Ha, I think Garland throws his first changeup of the game, and it's destroyed to the opposite field. Stick with the sinker Jon!
  18. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) DeJesus hurt again? It's too bad....Costa's swinging the bat a lot better right now than him.
  19. BTW, Preston Wilson has now K'd in at least his last 6 at-bats.
  20. This ump seems to have a tight zone for Garland so far.
  21. You could tell just in the first inning how much better righties pick up Affeldt than the lefties do. Today would be a nice day to get some production from the bottom of the order.
  22. Quite a change from the last time we faced Affeldt in the first inning.
  23. I think it's safe to say that two of the biggest reasons that AJP had his highest homer total were his change in approach at the plate (went from a gap hitter to more of a home run hitter) and that he was playing at a homer's park (compared to San Fran, which plays very deep).
  24. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) thats dissapointing First, don't jump to conclusions. Second, don't be naive about which players did roids, and which didn't. EVERY team in baseball had players that were on the juice a few years ago. AJP wasn't on the Sox then, so I don't really care if he was on them or not.
  25. There's been long standing rumors that AJP was connected to BALCO. I'm not saying he did steroids, but many people knew that he was supposed to testify in the case.
