  1. For anyone making comparisons regarding the late seasons collapse of the 2004 Cubs and the 2005 White Sox, Curtis Granderson = Victor Diaz (Chicago born player who helped beat the Cubs last year).
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 03:01 AM) We all know how easy it is to 2nd guess Ozzie, and it is. I just think in September, with the big roster, there are other options for Ozzie to use. The blame for this game definitely goes on AJP. It's disappointing to see the terrible approach some of our veterans, like AJP and Everett, have had down the stretch. I respect that Ozzie is going with the 9 guys that got us this far, but why not give one of the benchers a chance to give us a spark in a game? Play 8 of the core guys, and put someone like Gload/Borchard/Anderson into the game. The Yanks have got a big lift from Bubba Crosby lately. As I said in a post last night, there's a difference between making a guy a "starter", and just sitting him out one game.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) What's your point? You said that AJP had to bat there because Spurling was up in the pen.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Amusing. Some of you guys b**** at Guillen for lefty-righty pitching matchups and then crucify him when he doesn't pinch hit for Pierzynski with Spurling out there. Pierzynski is a contact hitter, doesn't K much, supposed to be clutch. Seems to me it was Pierzynski's fault, freaking awful at bat from my view. AJP was facing Walker. No matter who was up, Walker was pitching to the batter.
  5. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Jinxes are only a byproduct of human emotion. It wasn't me who tried to prevent these threads on this site. I'm pretty sure it was our loyal janitor who wanted to put an end to them until they were clinched.
  6. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) that was just aweful baseball in the last two innings. AWEFUL ATROCIOUS HORRIBLE baseball. HOW CAN YOU NOT BUNT? HOW CAN YOU NOT DO YOUR JOB?? you did it all first half and you forget? Our first half was systematic, leadoff baserunner, steal, bunt, sac fly, run. GAME OVER. NOW its K K K K K K K K K K K K K HR!!! K K K K K K K K K K K K HR!!! KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK We still played some bad baseball in the first half. We found ways to not only win, but the opposition found ways to lose.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) It just wouldnt be a Soxtalk threw without the usual anti-Ozzie talk :/ Lefties have K'd 22 times in 26 innings vs Walker Righties have K'd 6 times in 21 innings vs Walker We needed contact in that AB.
  8. These threads are asking for nothing but a jinx.
  9. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Politte gave up one HR before the All Star Break. He has given up 6 homeruns since then. I think someone figured something out, or he has lost some of his edge. His velocity is down a few mph, and his control hasn't been the same. I'm not blaming him though. Our offense just can't execute late in the game. You can tell our hitters get completely out of focus with RISP. Only Cy Mays sucking beyond belief teased some people into thinking the offense was back.
  10. CAN WE PLEASE GET RID OF EVERY THREAD TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFF MATCH-UPS? Seriously, it's like every time this team wins 2 games, people think the playoffs are locked.
  11. Now we're going to hear story after story tonight about how he grew up in Chicago tonight. Good for him, he's a good kid, and we deserved to lose this game. OUR NUMBER 3 HITTER IS KILLING US!
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) It's like we don't care. And who does that fall on?
  13. Did Granderson hit a walk-off? f*** that, even I've got him out before.
  14. We're back to having too many automatic outs in our lineup.
  15. Rowand isn't showing me much in the late innings during this stretch run.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) OMFG What happened?
  17. The one thing I ask for is no walk off hit to Ordonez!
  18. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) I was not pointing at you. If he can not see it were AJ and Dye that f***ed up that inning, why bother watching the game! Stop calling others stupid when all of us know Ozzie has MUCH MORE KNOWLEDGE about this game than anyone on this board will ever have! It is so f***ing easy sitting behind a computer and type your ****! I know you weren't talking to me, I was just sticking up for him because there's a lot of us that don't think he's a good manager. Does that make us a bad Sox fan? I sure hope not. AJP f***ed up big time that inning. The question is, should he have been up in that situation to even screw up? Also, why is he even batting in the 3rd spot?
  19. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) If you think Ozzie is stupid, why don't you stop watching this game and go f***ing coach a little league team! STFU! Wow, calm down. Just because we don't think our manager is very good, it doesn't mean we're not a Sox fan.
  20. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) Well, hopefully Pudge is done for the series or at least today and tomorrow. He hurts us so much both offensively and defensively. What happened?
  21. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) I just think it funny that he just put Neil in against the lefty because the odds were in the Sox favor.Then he forgets about that lefty-lefty matchup with AJ up there! Explain that! Because he doesn't believe in making his veterans feel like they can't get the job done.
  22. If you blow a chance like that in the 8th inning of a tie game, you're just asking to lose.
  23. Can I please make one suggestion to Ozzie: No more AJP in the 3rd hole!
  24. For those that can't watch: how pissed was Hawk last inning?
