  1. Ah Gload! Bring in Jenks, win the f'n game, and let Baj and Sanders do their thing the next few days.
  2. So we bring in Konerko now? WTF! Of course they're going to walk him. PK should not be running the bases.
  3. I think the Sox hold the tiebreak over the Yanks if they end up with the same record. They don't though over the Red Sox.
  4. Let me get this straight: If the Sox get swept this series, they'll still get home field for the playoffs as long as Boston doesn't sweep the Yanks?
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) I agree, atleast we can rest those guys on saturday or sunday and then the offday monday I just find it funny that in the first game all season that we should just be able to relax, we're all getting annoyed with Ozzie. :banghead
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) Just put Sanders in and be done with it. Ozzie didn't want to pinch hit actual major league bats, so just give up already ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  7. I don't get it: We've basically could care less the whole game, but now we're going to use our entire bullpen?
  8. The Indians have turned into the Sox of last week. Give them a thrill Borch!
  9. I'm not concerned if we lose this game, but I hope we start guarding the lines in the late innings of a close game. BTW, I know Borchard has 3 K's, but his swing looks 10 times better this season than it did in the past.
  10. QUOTE(downstairs @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Also... we didn't complain that CLE got to play KC and TB at the end of the season. And this lineup of ours would beat both of those teams. Huh? The Tampa lineup is better than our regular starting lineup.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) No, every team has to respect the game and always play to win. If teams were allowed to take the night off, baseball would be like wrestling (the WWF variety). We'll see how Ozzie does the rest of the series. Maybe it's day off tonight and they'll play all weekend. Every team has one thing to worry about....THEMSELVES! We earned the right yesterday to be able to rest our starters this weekend. Plenty of teams have done things like this in the past. If it wasn't the two b****es of the AL East being involved, there wouldn't be as much outrage. The Cubs made the playoffs in 2003 cause of some pathetic excuses for lineups by the Reds and Pirates.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) My favorite two were the Uribe play against Cleveland, and the Rowand play on August 7th, where he robbed Sexson of a multibase hit in the 8th inning, saving Garland (who left runners on) the game, and Politte (who was pitching) from a blown save. Why this one? Because I was there (8 rows up from the dugout, amazing seats), and I almost dropped my nachos when I saw it happen. I (and everyone around me) went f***ing crazy That was a great catch by Rowand. The funny thing is that the catch was much more difficult and meaningful than any of his catches in New York the next week, yet he received all the praise for the NY catches.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Garland strikeout vs. Tejada Definitely the best pitch of the season I saw. I've heard great things about Jenks vs Vlad, but I never saw it. Contreras vs J. Jones in the 9th last Friday was pretty special also.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) It's not so much one play, but the limited time when we had Frank when he showed us that he could still drive it. I was just going to edit my post to change number 3 to Frank's huge 3 run blast in the 8th inning against Tampa on July 5th, I believe.
  15. Now that we can sit back and relax for 4 days, why not discuss what the favorite plays of the regular season were so far for each of us? Here's mine: 5) Rowand's 3 run homer against Hoffman in San Diego 4) PK's 2 run single against the Cubs at Wrigley in the 8th (thanks Patterson) 3) Not a play, but the 4 homers against RJ in the same inning 2) AJP's walk-off homer against the Dodgers 1) The Rally Crede beats the Indians
  16. QUOTE(White Sox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) i also made a top 10 plays of the season in audio format. if you guys want me to post it ill put it up tonight. Isn't that like a hot girl asking you if you want to feel if they're real or fake?
  17. I haven't seen this posted anywhere else on this site, but espn1000 is reporting Contreras has been named the game 1 starter.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Ozzie said he's playing this series straight up out of respect for the bosox and yankees. I know I want to see some guys get a day off but I definitely want Carl playing these last 3, he's starting to look good again and I think it'd be a real bad time to take him out of the lineup. I could understand why Ozzie would do that. There's no harm in resting each guy maybe once, while still putting out a respectable lineup. I hope AJP, Rowand, Pods, and Dye get a day off this wknd.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Joe "Bean" Esposito? Yes sir, from the greatest montage in movie history.
  20. "Scotty (Pods) likes to wear rubbers (cleats) so he can dig down deeper in the dirt." by DJ
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) You're the best........ Arouuund --- From Karate Kid
  22. This might be a dream series for many soxtalk fans, as Gload and Baj are likely to see a lot of action.
  23. Predictions of the lineup: Timo (7), Iguchi, Borchard (9), Everett, Gload (3), Crede, Blum (6), Anderson (8), Casanova
  24. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Fathom: Now I have to disagree with you again. What the hell you're talking about us being swept in the playoff and in horrible fashion! We will advance to second round. Keep the faith! I don't think we'll get swept in the playoffs. I'm very hopeful, as I feel that the players will have so much less pressure now than they did the last month or so. Strangely, my biggest concern is our bullpen for the playoffs. Politte's velocity seems to be way down. At least we have one batter Neal!
