  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) Well, we knew that it would be. Which is just awful during a pennant race. I can't believe the Indians were able to jack around Santana like they did.
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) The Orioles have totally fallen apart, they are playing absolute horses*** baseball. And the Yanks play them 4 more times! It seems like everyone sweeps the Orioles now (even the Sox kicked their ass at the end of July).
  3. Yankees lead 5-1 on Posada's 2nd homer of the game. If we can't win tonight, this is another brutal baseball day.
  4. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) Hafner 3 run HR 4-1 CLE Haha, that team's amazing now.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) If what you saw was that we had outhit cleveland .281 to .275, that's simply a shows how useless batting average is for measuring offense. Pods
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Hawk pissed at Ozzie. LOL. What was he pissed at Ozzie for?
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) How did they get their runs off Bmac on Sat? I forget. Didn't Cuddyer homer?
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) No complaining about being out of the games down the stretch -- we're going to miss Radke and Bonderman. Oh I know. Again, we have no one to blame but ourselves for this situation.
  9. You're not going to see a much weaker hitting 1-2, in terms of power, than Tyner and Bartlett.
  10. If anyone thinks this team can afford the contracts of both PK and Delgado, they're definitely forgetting we're not the Yankees.
  11. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) He said he doesn't care about all that peripheral ...then he caught himself as he started to say "s***" and apologized, and said "stuff". He's just concerned with what's going on on the field. Very blunt. So he wasn't feeling sorry for himself, like a certain manager was?
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) Ozzie called McCarthy the next Jack Black didnt he and he said that if he could B-Mac would of made the team out of spring training..... I think he likes the kid a lot. Its just that Duque is a veteran and they brought him in for the stretch and playoffs so Ozzie wanted to give him every last chance. HE'S NO ROGER CLEMENS!
  13. Great news: Mike Sweeney is out of the lineup vs Indians tonight
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) I do like Ozuna leading off against Santana, the rest really wouldn't matter to me. Nobodies going to hit him anyway. Besides for the great leadoff hitter Grady Sizemore
  15. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Fathom, I think I would be looking at the list of underachievers. That's why we have a 2 1/2 game lead versus having already clinched this thing. In due time my friend.
  16. You're going to hear a lot of b****ing from Hawk tonight if this lineup struggles.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Hasn't Ozzie said each of the last 3 days that he wasn't going to play with the lineup? That's his justification to not play any of the young guys and keep Everett in the lineup.
  18. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) All righties tonight: Per MJ&H: Ozuna LF Iguchi- 2B Everett DH Konerko 1B Rowand CF Dye RF Uribe SS Widger C Crede 3B Ah, the same lineup that did so well against Johan last time. I'm not a fan of Pods, but I think it's pathetic that we traded Carlos Lee, a big time run producer, for a player that our manager isn't even comfortable enough to have face lefties during the stretch run.
  19. BTW, I have a feeling we'll see the return tonight of Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, and not Ken "Sox Homer" Harrelson. He was fairly critical of this team this morning, especially about our past approach against Santana. He said we should stack the lineups with lefties. If we have a righty lineup tonight, and they struggle, Hawk's going to be quite critical.
  20. Since there aren't many 3rd base options, he'll see an even bigger contract than he probably deserves.
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) I am sick and damn tired of seeing this reference. 95 games is not something to be happy about. So, let me get this straight, NOTHING but 110 wins was acceptable to any of you people who are saying this? Well, Katy-Bar-the-F'in-Door. NOTHING BUT 110 wins or you SUUUUUUUUCCCCCK. You can see it all over the place, people are over pitching, over swinging, because they have something to lose. At the beginning of the year, they had NOTHING to lose. The pressure is killing this team, and the attitude of "nothing but a 10-15 game lead matters or you're CHOKERS" is absolutely killing me. I bet any fan of the 2003 Cubs would have loved to not only make the playoffs, but to win a playoff series. Still, that season is considered by every Cubs fan as a disappointment because the expectations were justifiably raised due to what took place during the year. Fair or not, anything but making the playoffs will result in this being categorized as a disappointing season for the Sox.
  22. I can't believe I forgot another excuse we'll definitely get sick of hearing: the Pods injury excuse.
  23. Mueller plays very solid defense, has put up very solid numbers over the past few seasons, and is a switch hitter. He's definitely going to get more than 2 million dollars on the market.
  24. Guys like Dye get traded every offseason, and they rarely get a lot of value in return. There are a lot of outfielders that can hit .270 with 25-30 homers. Guys like Burnitz, Dye, Reggie Sanders bounce around a lot because these type of guys are a dime a dozen. We might as well keep Dye, because with his solid contract, we're not going to get a better replacement for a cheaper cost.
